With a lot of her toys packed up so we can keep our house clean and tidy for all the people who aren’t coming to look at it to buy it, Mallory is down to only a few toys (but don’t let her fool you – she still has plenty).
But now that she has fewer to choose from, she has taken a huge interest in her art easel and loves to draw on it. She will color and color almost all day. It’s been interesting to see her talent develop from simple scribbles, to more deliberate shapes. We went to Fridays the other night and Rick told Mallory to circle what she wanted to eat – and she circled the mac n cheese. Then she pointed to the hamburger and told Rick that was what he was going to get. He told her to put an X over what he was going to eat and I for sure thought she’d just circle it, but lo and behold she actually put an X next to the hamburger. I’ve said it before, but that girl is PURE GENIUS.
Mallory drew this and when I asked her what it was, she told me it was “Big Horse Mountain”.
We’re starting to make our list of what to get her for her birthday {oh my GOD she’s going to be THREE} in November. Me thinks a cool art set with safety scissors and stuff will be good.
Looks like she has been hiding her true talent!! Great imagination!! Don’t you just wish you had room to keep every picture they have drawn!!
