We are continuing with Carson’s introduction to the world of non-boob-food. So far he’s had rice cereal and just this week we started oatmeal. I got some Stage 1 fruits but decided we’ll wait until closer to 6-mos to start those.
He took after his big sister with regard to eating the cereal. I remember it took Mallory all of three days to realize that the cereal is good stuff. Carson loves it so much that he uses his hands to help rake the spoon into his mouth and then he gets sticky cereal all over his hands and face (and shirt, and bib, and highchair, and me, and and and). If you go too slow feeding him, he’ll start to SCREAM. I always forget that part until after I sit him at the table with us and start eating my own dinner and feeding him at the same time. And then God forbid I take a break shoveling food into his mouth so that I can have some of my own dinner. Luckily he’s happy to have a paci shoved in his mouth for a few minutes so I can have a turn eating.
After the mess that is dinner, he gets right in the bath. I sometimes forget to actually wash his face because it’s so funny to watch him kick his feet and then try to roll over but then realize that he’ll get his face all wet if he does that so he stays on his back. It’s hard to be back in the “must stay in the bathroom for the entire bath” mode again.
Here is Tank enjoying his bath. I think his bossy big sister makes an appearance at the end too.
