Mallory

Good Girl

A lot of people have told me that the Terrible Twos are nothing compared to the Terrible Threes, and that for as naughty and ornery and grumpy as Mallory has been the past year, that it’s only going to get worse (and I know that in the grand scheme of the world, she is a pretty good kid, but it’s all relative..when she’s good, she’s great but when she does get ornery – LOOK OUT).

So I’ve been dreading her upcoming third (OMG – she’s going to be THREE!) birthday, and was very scared about what is to come. But if her behavior the past week or so is any indication, I’ll take the impending threes over her outgoing twos any day.

She has been FANTASTIC. She still has her moments but she’s been so good lately I can’t stand it.

Where we’d normally have a 10 minute (or longer) fight followed by her being sent to her room for having a tantrum, she now might say “NO!” or “why?” but she quickly changes her tune and does what she is supposed to. We haven’t had any huge blowouts the past week and I keep telling her over & over again how happy I am that she is being such a good girl. She’s also been a lot more helpful with Carson too.

It’s Monday night after a long holiday weekend including a long day on Saturday and I don’t think we had one meltdown all weekend. I can’t even count how many times I told her how happy I was that she was so good.

Here’s to hoping this isn’t just a fluke!

  1. Might have something to do with getting to wear Spinny Bresses. That week off seemed to be pretty powerful.
