I am a slacker blogger. I have been lollygagging my way around posting this week – I don’t know quite why, since the mounds of laundry that I have to fold & put away and the messes that exist in my house are no indication that I’ve been spending my time doing anything particularly worthwhile. But I have been enjoying my children and trying to figure out how in the world other moms handle after school/work time if they work until 5p. I am home with my babies by 4.15p every afternoon and I still never sit down until they are in bed. And that doesn’t mean I’m spending time doing that laundry or whatever, it’s mostly dog-poop duty, emptying school bags & lunch boxes, drawing letters for Mal so she can practice her Ms, making dinner, feeding dinner, cleaning up dinner, cleaning up children, picking out clothes for the next day, making bottles for the next day, putting children to bed, and then I finally sit down on the couch at 8p or a little after and I need my cooldown time at the end of the day so the laundry and other picking up gets put off to the next day (and the next day and the next day).
But today I’m enjoying my afternoon couch time. I spent the morning taking pictures of four lovely families and while my new super-fast computer downloads the hundreds of pictures from my super-slow memory card, I decided that laundry be damned {again} – I need to blog. I justify most of my blogging time because this is the best record of my children’s childhood (heck, there are times I have to refer Rick to view videos/pictures on the blog because he misses so much because of his stupid work schedule). Right now Carson is crawling around the living room chasing different toys that roll away from him. I smell a dirty diaper but he’s {relatively} happy right now so we’ll let him be.
Oops, not so happy now. Be right back.
Ok, here I am.
Anyways, so Carson is still crawling. He started the other night and then gave us a big fat “heck no” when I tried to get him to crawl again. But by Friday he realized that all the cool kids are mobile so he gave it another shot. I am now officially in trouble again because he is aiming for the computer cords, etc. Ugh.
So – here is my fave picture from last week. Mallory must wear her football bress on football Fridays. I just love her pigtails and green knees :-)
And here is my sweet boy & me at the tailgate yesterday
And you can’t have one without the other…
So, Michigan is back on a winning gig now. Big game next weekend against Penn State. The team is still undefeated when Carson goes to the games so I am planning on taking him to the remaining three games this season (Just kidding, Mom. Well, not really. I have my superstitions…)
I think this picture is so cute – it’s like Carson is trying so hard to have a conversation with my dad.
We stayed until the very end of the game yesterday. Poor Delaware State – sucks to be them but good for us to get the win :-)
And with that, I am off to edit 714 pictures I took today!
Oh, those curls! the cheerleader suit! The little man…gorgeous!

Glad to know that you take time for yourself. The laundry, dog poop and everything else will always be there but the kids grow too fast… Take if from me, mine ae 24, 19 and 16, whew…
Sure wish I would have had your cell number Saturday, my 19 year old daughter got tickets to the game and brought her old mom….
Enjoy them Sam, before you know it they won’t have time for you….
