Pink Lady

November 30, 2009

All Mallory wants for Christmas is a polka-dot camera.
This pink & white polka-dot camera, actually.

But she already has a digital camera (my old one) that works. So – what do we do? Does Santa get her this adorable little camera?
Rick did ask her if she wanted hockey skates for Christmas. She said “YES. Pink hockey skates. Because I like pink.”
We are on the search for who created this pink-obsessed monster.

A Busy Camera

November 29, 2009

Well – first off – happy belated thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a great weekend surrounded by family & friends.
And now I’ll go into detail for why I haven’t posted in a week.
I started to feel sick a week ago (the day after the OSU game) – and felt progressively worse as the week went along. If I hadn’t already burned up six sick days (of the 15 I get starting October 1), I totally would have stayed home at least one day last week. But it just felt like a horrible head cold and I feel guilty if I …

The End of an Era

November 24, 2009

For three years, I have been telling people “nope – Mallory has never had a haircut!”.
I was afraid her curls would rebel and straighten out the minute I got a pair of skuzzers (scissors) near them so she’d gone without a haircut forever. Well, for three years.
I happened across this picture of Mallory yesterday (from her birthday in 2008). Her curls were pretty and round and soft and perfect.
And I happened to have a hair appointment yesterday. And when this is how she looked yesterday, I pulled the trigger before I had time to think about it. …

Diary of a Football Saturday

November 23, 2009

My football Saturdays have changed a little since just four years ago. I used to be the first one to the tailgate, with a huge stash of jello shots and a case of beer. I would have to set my alarm to make sure I was up on time.
Not anymore. I have two very sweet alarm clocks (they are cute even though they don’t come with snooze buttons) who wake me up plenty early on my days off. But once we’re up, it’s go-go-go to get out the door. We try to get to the tailgate by 10a for …

My Girl

November 18, 2009

I hate when things like life and other responsibilities get in the way of my blogging. I miss writing here when I’m away too long ;-)
We had another birthday party for Mallory this past weekend – this one was for my family (my mom’s birthday is two days before Mallory’s so they get a joint celebration every year). Mallory got a cute outfit and a daily planner wall thingy from my mom, a new “hat doll” from my sister (a doll that is wearing a hat), and a cool dollhouse from my dad (I had sent my dad plans for …

Tank + food = TLA

November 16, 2009

The Tankster is a big fan of food. He is now getting three meals a day, in addition to 5-6 bottles/nursing sessions.
Fruit & cereal for breakfast, veggies & cereal for lunch, and then for dinner we try to give him a jar of Gerbers “3rd food” (lasagna, turkey & veggies, etc).
He eats fruit from the jar. And he eats veggies from the jar.
But those 3rd food “meals” in a jar?
Nope.
He MUST have some of what we are having for dinner. If we are having any type of meat – he gets cranky if I try to …

I Spy

November 14, 2009

Do you see it?
No, not the big chubby cheeks and triple chin.

Look what finally showed up yesterday, after weeks and weeks of teasing (and teething)?

I is for…

November 12, 2009

Mallory loves loves loves her little brother – she is unbelievably attentive to him and loves to make him laugh. I can’t believe how lucky we are. Rick & I have some pretty cool kids.

Highlights of Mallory’s 3-yr appointment

November 11, 2009

Mallory had her 3-yr well-child appointment yesterday, since she just turned three (OH MY GOD I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD?). Here are the stats from her appointment.

She is 39lbs (95%) and 39” (77%). The nurse commented “she should be square!”.
She got to wear the little gown that opens in the back for her appointment. I told her she didn’t have to take off her undies or her socks but she insisted on taking off her socks. Whatever.
I can’t get over what a little person she looked like sitting up on the table in her little gown that …
