Ok, it’s late and I should be asleep but I need to share these pictures from Halloween and tell you the story. If I don’t do it tonight, I’ll not get it up until after the weekend, and then these pictures will get buried in the avalanche of Mallory’s birthday pictures :-)
First off – Mallory & her two friends wore their fairy costumes to dance class on Thursday.
I failed to try Mallory’s costume on her until we actually got to dance class – and you can’t see it here when she’s sitting down. So I took this picture later that night.
Um – the costume is one-size-fits-all, but it’s supposed to fit up to a size 6. She’s 2. Almost 3. It is so NOT one-size-fits-all. But damn she looks cute, goofy pizza-covered face & all!
Moving on…
Friday they had a Halloween parade at school
Not sure why she looks so sad here – probably because her brother was still sick and couldn’t dress up in his costume at school.
Here is a great shot of her wings:
Finally – actual Halloween.
The kids & I planned to go trick-or-treating with Alli & her folks; we had to rush up north during halftime of the Michigan game (and that’s all I’m going to say about THAT game).
We started out a little after 6 – it was pretty chilly so we packed the girls’ coats in the stroller and made them wear gloves and off we went. I’ll fast forward real quick here and tell you that those girls trick-or-treated the ENTIRE time – almost two hours worth.
Both girls got into the spirit right from the beginning. No hesitation this year about going up and saying trick or treat. Only a couple of houses into the night, they were cutting through landscaping to get to the next house faster.
Mallory picked out a plastic trick-or-treat pumpkin for Carson a few weeks ago at the store so I let her carry that with her for a few houses to get me, I mean Carson some candy. I think I thought we would only get a short amount of T-o-T time so I wanted to make sure we had enough to share ;-) So Mallory would go up to the porch, say “TWICK OWE TWEAT!” and hold up two plastic pumpkins. I could hear the people say “oh, TWO pumpkins?” and then I’d have to yell “one is for her brother!”, because I was standing back with Carson in my arms or in the stroller. Mallory then started to tell people that the pumpkin was for “Cah-thun” and people thought she was saying “cousin”.
But half a block into the night, I took Carson’s pumpkin from her and put it in the stroller. That didn’t stop the princess fairy from looking out for her little brother. She still asked for another piece of candy for “Cah-thun” and then would come running back to the stroller where she shoved the candy in Carson’s face, yelling “Cah-THUN, Cah-THUN – LOOK WHAT I GOT FOR YOU!” and then she’d put the candy in Carson’s plastic pumpkin.
Alli, smart girl that she is, also started to ask for a second piece of candy for Carson (but I don’t think it made it into Carson’s bucket).
It was HYSTERICAL. Of course Carson & I got two full-size butterfinger candy bars…that I’m not allowed to eat. Argh.
How sweet is this picture? It is our princess fairies heading home for the night. You probably can’t see it but they are holding hands – LOL!
And one of just the Tank, for good measure…
And that’s all. G’night.
How cute. I am a little worried that the outfit we just sent her for her birthday will fit.
love love love all these pics! Love Mallory’s costume and Carson’s is too cute! :)
