This is what happens when Mallory doesn’t want her picture taken.

Dad’s Christmas Wish
MCB: Dad – tell Santa what you want for Christmas.
RB: I don’t want anything.
STB: Yes you do – you want a new watch.
MCB: What kind of watch do you want, Dad? A pink one?
RB: No, not a pink one.
MCB: Do you want a orange watch?
Baby Boy’s First Haircut
As much as I would love to wait and see if Carson’s hair curls like Mallory’s, I wasn’t loving seeing his scraggly hair over his ears and the collars of his shirts. It made it look as though he’d just gotten out of bed, which I guess when you are 8mos old, isn’t really that much of a stretch, since you are taking 2-ish naps a day.
Anyway.
So we got Carson a haircut. Check out the “Chip off the old block” post for a decent “before” picture.
He was good and sat on Rick’s lap the whole time. It’s …
I miss you guys!
Man I miss posting here. Even my husband mentioned that I have been neglecting the blog lately. :-(
But it’s continued to be a busy couple of weeks with pictures to edit (some more than others…), Christmas cards to design (and re-design), and shopping to do.
I think we are ready for Christmas and I cannot WAIT to capture the look on Mallory’s face when she sees what Santa brought her. :-)

Carson is getting more mobile and brave every day. He pulls himself up on EVERY.THING. He finally started to crawl on his hands and knees (instead of the army …

Poor Carson.
Call me Crafty Mom
After seeing this post I got inspired to be Crafty Mom and try to make one for my kids to leave cookies & carrots for Santa & the reindeer.
Mine didn’t come out as perfect as the one that inspired me, but I still am pleased with my creation.
Of course, Mallory wanted to make a plate too, so the next night Rick stopped at the “plate store” (aka K.Mart) and got Mallory a plate to color. I made Rick help her. This is what they came up with – it’s a plate just for the reindeer.
I guess I …
All I need is a reindeer…

Mallory wanted to sleep up in our bed again tonight. She tells me that she will keep my spot warm, as though that will make it ok for her to not sleep in her own bed.
So she gathers up her bear and water and pig stuffed animal, and usually a book or two. Then she calls for me to help her get her stuff upstairs. We don’t leave a light on for her so I’m not sure how exactly she reads, but whenever we let her bring a book up with her, she usually falls asleep with …
Hey Santa Baby
We had plans set up for a visit to Santa on Saturday. Mallory’s friend’s grandpa has a Santa outfit and we were going to go see him – I figured we’d get our Santa picture then because I expected Mallory to not want anything to do with Santa. But because we told her Alli’s grandpa is just one of Santa’s helpers, I wanted to see how she did with a “real” Santa.
So when I picked the kids up from daycare today, I told Mallory we were going to see Santa. She screeched and started yelling to all of her friends …
Favoritism already
Check out the email I received yesterday from Rick.

I opened Carson’s college plan with $2000, I opened Mallory’s with $400.
I hope this little slip-up was only because he thinks Mallory has a better chance at an athletic scholarship in college since she’s a girl.
I guess I should be getting her into golf and field hockey instead of “creative movement” dance class.
Trouble with a capital T
Carson found the Christmas tree.
And he found the jingle bells that Mallory hung a little too low.
He also found behind the tree:
We are in trouble.
