Mallory started to sing “Hail to the Victors” spontaneously this afternoon. We’ve listened to the band CD in the car but it’s not like we do that every day or anything (I’m being serious – we hardly listen to it). I don’t know if she got it in her head from the football & softball games yesterday or what, but OMG is it FUNNY.

Random Pictures & Other Randomness
*Had Carson’s follow-up doctor’s appointment on Friday. Jaundice is almost all the way gone, he is back up to his birth weight and we have to go back in 3 weeks to have the bumps on his head checked on. The doctor seemed to think that they had already started to go down in size even from our appointment on Tuesday but I can’t tell.
*Carson & I spent Friday after his appointment shopping & eating with my mom, my sister and Emily’s mother-in-law. My mom got Carson & Mallory some cute outfits and one of the shirts she got …

Seven Whole Days
Oh man. My baby is already SEVEN days old. Where is the time GOING?
I’ve been bugged for MORE pictures but it’s hard to take pictures of a baby that is sleeping on your chest, especially when you don’t want to be in the picture yourself since even though you’ve followed your OB’s advice and taken a shower every morning, you still don’t have a stitch of makeup on or hair done and thus refuse to let the viewing audience see you in such a state.
BUT – I can regale you with my wonderfully written words instead. Just imagine …

…sorta all over the place
Man. You go have a baby, write up & post a two page birth story and then people give you grief for going a day without posting!
We’ve had a busy couple of days – the visiting nurse was out on Monday to check on me & the baby and then we had Carson’s first doctor’s appointment yesterday. It is crazy how having just one real item on my “to do” list can take up the whole day. Today, my one real item was to get a post up and finally share pictures from last Thursday. We’ll see if I …
What’s two pounds?
Before I forget…
On Friday, the anesthesiologist was in to check on me (another perk to having a nurse anesthetist for a sister) and Dr B walked in. She & the anesthesiologist started talking about how big Carson was and stuff, and I reminded Dr B that at my appointment on Monday, she predicted I would have an 8-1/4 pound baby.
She looked at the anesthesiologist and shrugged her shoulders and said “eh, what’s two pounds?”.
LMAO.
Baby Carson’s Birth Story
Here is the story of Baby Carson’s birth.
Had 8.30a appointment for a NST (non-stress test) on Thursday April 2. Emily came with me – she was off work that day and nothing better to do apparently. Thank goodness she did come with me, seeing as how the day played out.
Checked my fluid levels and they looked great. Got on the monitors and it took a while for the baby to wake up. I had one real contraction while on the monitor and when Dr B came in, she checked me (still ~4cm dilated) and said that she saw one thing …
We are home!
We made it home ~1p this afternoon. Mallory is an unbelievably attentive big sister (ie – she’s sort of a pain in the arse) and is totally obsessed with his status and reporting it to us by the second. I’m so glad that she is welcoming him to our house and our family (she made sure he was included in her bedtime story routine).
I have the birth story written up and will post soon, and I have started to go through the almost 100 pictures from the past three days.
We are getting adjusted to our family of four. I’ve only …
