Mallory must have really missed Cooper while we were away on our trip. Our whole day traveling home, she kept asking what was going to happen when we got home. I told her we’d get to snowy Michigan, then go get my car from Grandpa’s and then go home. But she would ALWAYS insert “and we have to get COOPERS from grandpa’s house!!”.
She’s never before expressed an interest in the dog sleeping in her room but I offered it to her as a treat (I was grasping at anything to try to get her to go right to bed!), so she grabbed his dog bed and put it by her bed and Rick & I crossed our fingers. Unfortunately for her, the dog didn’t want to stay in there while Rick & I were still awake, but when we headed to bed, Coops went right to Mallory’s room and slept on his pillow there all night long.
Mallory was pretty tickled in the morning when I told her where he slept.
Another picture from that same night – Mallory is cuddling a big stuffed bear that my cousin brought her at Christmas.
PS – Rick’s mom made that teddy bear afghan for us – isn’t it gorgeous?
Cute. :) Funny how little girls seem more attached to their dogs than boys. At least at this age.
