RE: Kids
they both fell asleep on the way home from my mom’s and i screwed myself by actually believing that they’d both get right into jammies and go right to sleep again when we got home.
mother trucker, it’s been 90 minutes and neither of them are asleep yet. got her in bed as soon as we got home, and into jammies and under the covers while she was still half asleep. she cuddled right up and i was so excited. but then i went to get carson and she woke up PI$$ED b/c she wanted to play when we got home ("i was wanting to play with my toys when we got home!"). feck.
got him dressed in his jammies (he needed a bath but i said screw it since they both needed to sleep) while mallory screamed and moaned.
read them both books while i tried (unsuccessfully) to nurse carson to sleep.
brought him out to the couch while she scaled the baby gate twice. i double-deckered the gates and then she threw her bear over the gates and then she screamed b/c she "didn’t have anything to sleep with!"
finally gave her the bear back so she’d shut the hell up since carson wasn’t falling asleep, and i went in her room to rock carson.
she asked if once i got done rocking carson, if i could get cooper in her room and put up coopers’ gates.
did all that, and then carson wouldn’t stay down and mallory kept yelling "carson is making noise".
went in, got him down (i think finally?) and she is listening to her aquarium.
sweet jesus.
Boy, brings back memories. At 24, 20 and 16 I still don’t sleep because of my kids
If it makes you feel any better, Becca has not slept past 5am this whole trip (3:30 one night) and since we are in a retirement park with quiet hours, I have had to rock her/driver her around/walk the streets with her every night. I am feeling for you.
