Santa Monica
We spent our last day in California at the beach. (We were in Indian Wells for a week for a work gig for me – I think I haven’t really told this story in order. oh well).
Continuing on – our last day in California we drove to the beach. Mallory was NOT impressed with the big waves and would freak out when I started to get my feet near the water. I LOVE these pictures that Rick took of the kids and me checking out the surf. The water was freezing but I felt I just had to dip my …
Who Dresses You?
Unfortunately these pictures don’t show the light-up features on the fancy Princess boots.
A girl and her dog
Mallory must have really missed Cooper while we were away on our trip. Our whole day traveling home, she kept asking what was going to happen when we got home. I told her we’d get to snowy Michigan, then go get my car from Grandpa’s and then go home. But she would ALWAYS insert “and we have to get COOPERS from grandpa’s house!!”.
She’s never before expressed an interest in the dog sleeping in her room but I offered it to her as a treat (I was grasping at anything to try to get her to go right to bed!), …
L is for…
This is from one of my photo shoots with Mallory with my new “Atomic Fart” application on my iPhone.
It gets her every time!
(Yes, I am BEYOND behind – I have my idea for J but haven’t taken the picture I need yet, so I’ll add it when it’s done!)
K is for…
I had so much fun making crafts with Mallory this holiday season. This was a hard one though – I think she ate almost as many kisses as she put on the pretzels :-)
Johnny Willow
Do you have a song that your dad used to sing all the time when you were little? Like ALL.THE.TIME? Hopefully you do and I’m not the only one.
Well, Johnny Willow is that song for me. My dad used to sing it a million times when we’d drive up north and back every other weekend in the summer. Sometimes he’d change the words to include my 4th grade “boyfriend” (“Jordy Gray was a soldier…” and “…her name was Sammie T”). My sister recited the song for her 5th grade forensics contest. And my dad recorded himself singing it for me …
My Favorite People
The resort we stayed at in California was gorgeous – and all week long I had plans to take some great pictures on the beautiful lawns with all the flowers and greenery. For some reason the timing didn’t seem to work out so well (what with the sun setting at 4.45p and all), so I had to settle for some quick shots the morning that we left.
This picture cracks me up. How funny are my kids? Mallory & her fake smile and Carson & his “O”-face.
The children were nestled all snug in their…
…closets?
Our hotel room is so huge that we were able to put Carson’s pack-n-play in the walk-in closet.
And then I saw the other closet and told Mallory that it was where she’d be sleeping. She took me seriously and insisted on sleeping there every night of our trip.
Works for me!
Adventures in Hiking
While I slaved away in class, Rick took the kids hiking.
And you know that Mallory had to have her pink camel.back with her for the hike.
Apparently Mallory got tired by the end of the hike and Rick had to carry both of the kids. I scoff at that. One day for a few measly minutes ain’t NOTHING compared to every football Saturday when I have to carry both kids back to the car after the games.
