I’ve totally been meaning to write about this for a while and must do it before she (hopefully) outgrows it.
So – for a long time, Mallory has been telling us “it’s not polite to put our feet on the table” and “it’s not polite to burp” etc. I love that she is so aware about her manners, so it was really cute that she knew the rules.
But it’s gotten out of hand.
Now it’s “it’s NOT POLITE to tell people NO” and “it’s NOT POLITE to tell people to STOP DOING THINGS”.
Can you guess who I’m saying “NO” and “STOP THAT” to?
But then she goes and shows me her pruny fingers from the pool and tells me “look at my sprinkly fingers!” and she is cute all over again.
So cute!!!!! Mason has taken a simpler approach. If you tell him “no” he points at you and says “not nice!”. Then I point at him and say “not nice” and in his cutest voice he’s says “forry”. :)
I finally had to tell Chris that it is not polite for children to correct adults. Surprisingly, he bought it.
