Mallory isn’t quite four (but she desperately wants to be!) but we held the girls’ joint birthday party a few weeks ago. So amazing to think that Mallory & Allison have literally been friends since the day they were born – I think it’s rare that they were lucky to find such a great friend to share almost every single day with over the past almost four years.
I don’t think I was a big blogger back when Mallory was little so I’m pretty sure I didn’t share this gem back in the day.
I think it was Mallory’s first or second week of daycare and when I got there to pick her up, I saw her in the swing wrapped in a blanket, asleep and sucking on a pacifier. My first thought was “hmmm…I don’t remember bringing that blanket to daycare” and moved along to get the carseat and Mallory’s stuff. As I started to get my sleeping baby out of the swing, I realized that it wasn’t MY sleeping baby, but Christine’s. I ALMOST TOOK HER BABY INSTEAD OF MINE!! The girls had the same paci, the same blankets, more than a few of the same outfits – all on accident, never planned – so apparently Christine & I have similar tastes :-)
I think the girls went through a rough spot last year – sounds like they had days where they wanted NOTHING to do with each other (reports from daycare were that they were telling each other they didn’t want to play with the other) and it made me sad to think they were already growing apart. But now they are super close again and it’s so fun to watch.
Anywho – here are some pictures from their big bash earlier this month. The series of pictures of them blowing out their candles IS HYSTERICAL – Mallory was having some issues and it totally looks like Alli is thinking “Geez, Mal, need some help??”
