Four years ago

Big weekend for my girl – I CAN.NOT.BELIEVE my baby is turning four. She’s been talking about it for a month (it didn’t help that we had her big friend birthday party three weeks ago) and when I tell her that I want her to stay three, she tells me that she has to turn four so she can be a “growed up”. I explained that being four doesn’t make her a grown up but she told me she had to be four and then she’d be the other numbers to be growed up. Then she counted to 19 and said at 19 she is a growed up.

I love that she is so independent and strong.

I love that still wants to fall asleep in my bed at night. I justify this by telling Rick that she isn’t going to want to at some point, and that I want to take advantage of it while she does. (To clarify, I don’t love when she tries to make Rick or me go to bed when she does…)

I love that she is so freaking funny ALL THE TIME that I have to keep a pad of paper with me to keep track of them so I can tell Rick about them later.

I love that she loves her brother so much and is so helpful. She still calls him “sweet little boy” sometimes and uses this adorable little voice when she does. And sometimes she gets silly with him “Hey Carson, come here you silly. We need to take off your shoes you silly”. And a new thing is to pretend like she is going to tickle him from afar – all she has to do is look at him and wiggle her finger and he starts giggling.

She’s so excited to have a FOOTBALL BIRTHDAY PARTY tomorrow (which is sooooo funny because the whole time I was pregnant, I thought about how I’d be having Baby Fred’s birthdays at a tailgate so this works out great that her birthday is on an actual football game day).

I will do her birthday interview sometime this weekend – it will be fun to see how her answers changed from last year (we did it in January).
