Christmas 2010 was spent in a hotel room in Florida and I was determined to make it somewhat special for the kids…this is what our little tree looked like with all the presents under it on Christmas morning.
Mallory and Carson slept in until 7.20a on Christmas morning before Mallory came to my side of the bed and asked if Santa came. I told her I wasn’t sure and she said that their stockings looked like the had stuff in them. So we got Rick up (he is the WORST in the morning) and the kids anxiously awaiting the word GO to open their presents.
I had to share this picture of Mallory’s wrapping job – there are about five random pieces of ribbon taped to this package.
Mallory got a Barbie styling head thing (you can do it’s hair) and Chutes & Ladders from Santa, and a teacher kit and some LeapFrog books from us. Carson got a construction tool puzzle from Santa, and wooden train and Tag Junior thing from us. There are a bunch of things I’m missing looking back on that pile of presents but those were the big toys. I got a bunch of stuff I bought for myself and told Rick to wrap, but I also got a pretty necklace (that I’d sent the link to Rick a month ago and he actually followed through!). Rick got a new beach paddleball set (that’s what is wrapped up in the picture above), a coupon organizer (no more manilla folder for all his coupons!!), Wii hockey, plus two presents that we left at home because they were too big/heavy to pack.
I should add here that Mallory went swimming on Christmas Day. I think she is a little bit nuts – it was barely in the 60s! It was a heated pool, but still. I sat on the edge ready to jump in if I had to grab her but good grief. She is crazy!
After a lazy day in the hotel while Carson napped, we headed out toward the beach again.
These series of pictures showing Mallory running from the freezing cold ocean crack me up!
Thanks for keeping us posted! I am enjoying your posts. The photo of you and Carson at the end is too beautiful!
Nothing says Christmas morning like a case of Miller in the background!! Merry Christmas.
Your kids are too adorable! Carson is so big. Hope you are having fun. :)
Colleen and Paula already took my comments! But in all seriousness, you’re one good looking mother-in-law!
You are so very blessed, you just don’t even know it yet
