We got Carson this football set back in September but seeing as how he was only 1.5 years old, he had more fun throwing the football dudes all over the family room instead of playing with them…which made my “OMG WE’RE GOING TO LOSE SOME OF THE PLAYERS AND I WON’T BE ABLE TO SLEEP UNTIL I KNOW WHERE THEY ALL ARE” anxiety level go through the roof. So his football set spent a good part of the past three months on top of the fridge, which made him go stand in front of the fridge yelling and pointing at his football set until Rick or I got it down for him and either played it with him, or we made Mallory be the football police, and report back if he threw any football guys (so we could pack up the football set and try again another day).
But in the past couple weeks, he’s actually spent time PLAYING with the football dudes. He brings us the box of football guys (that we no longer have to hide on top of the fridge – YEAH!) and grunt/ask us to lay out the football field. As we do that and he starts dumping out the football players, he’ll occasionally grab one and show it to us and yell while he stomps his feet and stands on his tip-toes (because he’s sooooooo excited about his football dudes).
Then he lines up the football guys and then makes them all crash (video is coming). I don’t know that Carson’s idea of having the dudes all be lined up in a single file line would be the best blocking option but it works on felt.
Mallory wanted a turn taking pictures, and here are some of the ones she took. She does a good job with a big camera, don’t you think? Makes you think maybe it IS just the camera :-)
Future conversation between Carson and his Mom.
*************
Carson: I don’t have any good baby pictures.
Mom: What do you mean? I have gigabytes of cute shots.
Carson: They are called “pants” mom. Did you ever think of having me wear some?

We have the same thing going. Great shots and I notice a half-clothed van Lent in the background (probably inspecting a booger).
He will love choice time in my classroom on Ms Paula’s GO BLUE football Fridays- I have those same football guys! I can’t wait!–
and btw- Mallory is a natural! Great photos!
