The story you are about to read is a true story. I couldn’t make this stuff up if I wanted to.
Watching the Pro Bowl tonight – I asked Rick where (Tom) Brady was.
Mallory asked “Brady Hoke?”
I asked her who Brady Hoke is.
MCB: “Our new coach!”
STB: “Who was our old coach?”
MCB: “Wich Wod (Rich Rod)…
…but he didn’t win Ohio State”
Month: January 2011
Minivan Mama
I am a minivan mama.
I almost cried when I drove it off the lot. We didn’t really *need* it – but with the two cars we had (the Accord and the Xterra) we had no room to take anyone other than our family of four. I was never able to help take Mallory’s friends to dance or rock climbing or gymnastics, because we didn’t have room for three carseats in the back seat. And since I drove the Accord most of the time, I had to put Cooper in the front seat if I had to take him anywhere (like …
Carson-pourri
A little Carson video for your viewing pleasure.
You’ll hear his “OH!” late in the video…
Carson update – 21 months
Some of you may remember when I wrote about Carson’s 18-month appointment, our doctor was semi-concerned about Carson’s (lack of) speech. He didn’t really have any words or sounds that sounded like anything, other than “GOOOOOOOOooooo”, which was usually aimed at a football field.
But before I get to that followup appointment, we had another appointment with the same doctor the day before the speech appointment. Carson had been working on a cough the whole time we were in Florida and it got way worse last Monday night. Like so bad that if Rick had been home (and not at the …
Hot frocolate
I had a freezing cold outdoor photo session yesterday and came up with the idea of having big mugs of hot chocolate for the kids after we took pictures outside.
My kids got to enjoy their hot frocolate tonight. Once Mallory saw the brand new big huge red mugs, she bugged me all day about having some. But between the all the Valentine candy they had from our earlier photo session I didn’t need them having more sugar.
But then I remembered the hot chocolate in our cupboard is sugar-free.
So, I whipped them up a huge mug, complete with whipped cream and …
The Essee
Tomorrow’s sharing day letter is S and I asked Mallory what she wanted to bring for her sharing item.
She said she wanted to bring an Essee (sp?) – because when she says it, it sounds like it starts with an S (I’m guessing at how this would be spelled if it was a real word). I was trying to figure out if that is some animal from her new obsession, Madagascar, so I asked a few questions.
This is a summary of her rambling.
Essee. I want to bring an Essee. Well, they aren’t real but they live in …
The Messmakers
Our house isn’t spotless, much to my mother’s constant dismay. It isn’t dirty, like with food tucked under couches and stacks of junk everywhere but we have the mess that comes along with being busy. Folded laundry on the couch that stays a few days longer than it should. Clean pans on the stove that were left out to dry that are still there three days later. The island in our kitchen – while I would LOOOOVE for it to be spotless every day – isn’t ever spotless. Right now it is covered in mail, silly bandz, Carson’s report cards …
Behind the Scenes
I got the backdrop out to take some Valentine pictures of the kids today and Mallory grabbed her camera (our seven-year old Canon Rebel).
Here are some behind the scenes pictures of Mallory having a photo session with her brother.
How stinking funny is she?
Here are the pictures she took (yes, I still have my pajamas on).
I’ll share pictures from my camera another day.
Swim-Bike-Run
A local Irish bar is putting on a St Patrick’s Day 5K race, and there is a little kid’s dash race too (I think it’s a block).
Rick & I thought Mallory might enjoy the kid’s race so I asked her about it.
She said she would but that she wanted to bring her bike and swim too.
It took me a minute to realize that she only wants to do triathlons.
Magical
Our last day in Florida found us at Disney World. I was excited that my Underground Tourist iPhone app predicted that Friday was a good day to hit the Magic Kingdom, crowd-wise.
I was more excited when we got there and found that there was a meet & greet with Ariel at the Magic Kingdom. I mean, Ariel is Mallory and Rick’s FAVORITE PRINCESS, so it could not have been more perfect!
After a quick picture with Pluto right when we walked in the park, and then a minor attitude adjustment for both kids (I was about to turn us around …
