We’re in trouble.
Mallory’s new “thing” is that when I have to ask her to do something more than once (usually to STOP doing something), she responds with “OK. Whatever. STOP!”.
And Rick has succeeded in getting her to respond “can’t be sure!” when she doesn’t know the answer.
I’m so sorry for the daycare ladies.

Sleepy Face
Rick and Mallory have this silly game they play when they are trying to trick me into thinking Mallory is really asleep. He’s taught her to make a “sleepy face”, which means closed eyes, and tongue hanging out of her mouth. The best is that she hasn’t learned the physics of gravity yet, so her tongue is usually facing up out of her mouth, instead of hanging down.
The gag has now morphed into whichever parents walks in while she is trying to sleep, or should be asleep, says “oh, she must be asleep, she’s making a sleepy face!”, which causes …
Out of Order
FYI – I’m getting caught up on my old blog posts – and I am posting them to their proper chronological place, and not on the day that I’m finally getting around to blogging about it. This isn’t to confuse you, but more to keep my blog books (that I create from this blog) more interesting and “real” for my future grandchildren. I don’t need them thinking (knowing) how scatterbrained I really am, right?
Soooooo – if you are clicking over from a link on Facebook, or from your daily “new blog posts” email, be sure to click on every new …
M is for Mom
Block Ms from my girl. Love it.
Marathon Man
Rick ran his first ever marathon on Sunday here in Orlando – the Walt Disney World Marathon.
26.2 miles (as all marathons are).
He expected to finish in ~4 hours. The kids & I didn’t go watch the race because (a) it started at 5.30a; and (b) my conference started at 9a and I didn’t think I should skip the first morning just to watch Rick run. Rick’s dad & step-mom drove over from Tampa to watch the children during the race while I was in class.
But then I started getting his splits (updates on his time) and realized that HOLY COW …
Umbabersatal Studios
My conference was only half day on Wednesday so we took the kids to Universal (“Umbabersatal” or “Umbabersal” in Mallorian) Studios in the afternoon – actually Islands of Adventure. We picked Islands instead of Universal because Islands of Adventure has Seussville and we thought that would be better for the children. I was bummed they wouldn’t get to see the Shrek attraction at Universal, but that was the only thing I thought we’d miss.
I have to say that going to other theme parks really make you appreciate the magic of Disney. This park had chipped paint, dead leaves in the …
Butterbeer
We went to Islands of Adventure yesterday (more pictures to come) but I wanted to share this picture of Mallory drinking Butterbeer in Harry Potter world yesterday. She was very concerned that it had real beer in it. None of us liked it much (they said it was like shortbread and butterscotch) but we had to at least try it.
She also wants me to read her the Harry Potter books…any advice on if this is a good or bad idea for my 4yr old? I’ve read most of the books and don’t remember the first one being particularly scary. Thoughts?
Help
Carson was trying to get up on a chair in the lobby of the hotel this morning.
Instead of signing “help” to us, he looked at me and put a hand on his bottom to show he wanted me to push him up on the chair.
RB & I were LAUGHING.

What’s up, Webcam
What happens when you leave your computer unattended, and your 4-yr old quickly learned how to snap pictures with the webcam (and change her hats with the webcam utility thing)?
And one of her brother, for good measure.
