Rick and Mallory have this silly game they play when they are trying to trick me into thinking Mallory is really asleep. He’s taught her to make a “sleepy face”, which means closed eyes, and tongue hanging out of her mouth. The best is that she hasn’t learned the physics of gravity yet, so her tongue is usually facing up out of her mouth, instead of hanging down.
The gag has now morphed into whichever parents walks in while she is trying to sleep, or should be asleep, says “oh, she must be asleep, she’s making a sleepy face!”, which causes her to start giggling. This isn’t the best “sleepy face” capture, but it will do.
But now the BEST thing is that she’s taken it a step further. A month or so ago, Rick & I walked in to our room one night (where Mallory had gone to climb in our bed) and she looked like she was passed out COLD. I called Rick over to the bed and commented on how amazed I was at how fast Mallory had fallen asleep. I mean – her eyes were closed, no tongue hanging out (indicating she was trying to trick us) she honestly looked like she was dead asleep.
Rick & stood there examining her, trying to figure out how she went to bed so easily on her own, for about 30 seconds.
Then she started to slowly giggle.
This scenario has repeated itself a handful of times over the past few weeks (most recently in the car the other day).
Little shit.
Those are Good times
