Carson’s word explosion is continuing. The coolest thing is that while most of his “words” aren’t super clear, he is starting to repeat you when you ask him to say a word. On it’s own, you wouldn’t know that “neh” is “Shane”, but that’s how he says Shane when I ask him to say it. This is a huge improvement over a month ago when you’d ask him to say a word and he’d give you a look like “oh HELL NO”.
So, without further ado, here are his latest words, followed by the English version.
- kinky (complete with nose pinching) – stinky
- lola – hola
- hi – hi (and is super cute when he does his wave)
- gaga/dada – Mallory called Rick “Gaga” for a year and it’s sort of stuck
- buba – buba, which is what my sister’s kids call my dad
- didi – gigi, what we all call my mom
- leluh – Liam
- wau – Lauren
- neh – Shane
- meow – cat
- ooo – juice
- eeee (accompanied by the tummy rub for please in sign language) – please
- ball
- uh-own!!!! – touchdown
He can also sign eat, book and swim.
You’ll notice that Mama and Mallory are absent. He can say mama, but doesn’t really yet to get my attention. And I think I have too many nicknames for Mallory for Carson to pick up on exactly what he should call her. He does have a yell that may or may not be “Mal” – but I decided the jury is still out.
Regarding his sports obsessions: anytime he catches a GLIMPSE of a game on a television, he starts yelling. I am not joking when I say that I can tell without looking at the tv if it’s football, just based on how excited his yelling is, because he has different levels of excitement for football, basketball, hockey, and all the other sports.
He really is the coolest.
That’s so cool. I can’t remember when my kids could not talk …
Adrienne won’t zip it….
