Well, it wasn’t really TONIGHT. And it wasn’t last night, really. It was really the other morning. But I couldn’t resist a little Grease 2 reference…
Whatever.
We took the kids bowling the other day. And if you’ve never seen adorable little size 8 bowling shoes, you are missing out. O.M.G.
Rick & I had gone bowling two days before and my thumb got wrecked (like nerves are missing in it still today – it’s tingly and numb, oh but I DID bowl a 165), so just Rick & the kids bowled on Sunday. We had the gutter bumper things up and the kids rolled their balls {slowly} down the lanes. I wondered if they had those ramp thingys for them to use, but figured Super Smart Bowling Counter Worker Guy would suggest it if they had them.
Then the older couple on the lane next to us told us they did have the ramp thingys for the kids so I asked SSBCWG for one and he acted like it was the smartest idea EVER and probably wondered why he hadn’t thought of it (great question, SSBCWG) – and then the kids were IN.BIDNESS. And Carson rolled two strikes in a row. For real.
Rick has a new bowling method he picked up from the pro bowler on the lane next to us when he & I went the other night: only putting your fingers in the holes, and not putting your thumb in the thumb hole. Apparently you can get some serious spin on the ball, and Rick did a pretty good job with it when he bowled with the kids, and only benefited from the bumpers a handful of times.
Here are way too many pictures from our two games – and I didn’t really edit or crop them because there were so many I wanted to share. I will share some of my faves fully edited if/when I get around to it (you know – in my free time).
And yes – we did let Carson carry his own ball to put on the ramp thingy.
What a super great time….
It’s in the blood….M & C’s great grampa owned a bowling alley.
