This morning when I got Carson up, his diaper was totally dry. I thought I’d put him on the potty for a minute and see if he’d go. His teachers have been putting him on the potty at school for a while because he has shown an interest because most of the other kids in his class are working on getting potty trained, but as far as I know, he’s never gone at school.
Anyway, back to this morning. After I asked if he wanted to go, he said “uh, YEAH!” and walked right over to the little potty, sat down on it and we hung out for a minute while I kept asking him if he needed to go pee. Just as I was about to give up, he started peeing. I have to share that trying to get your son’s weewee to point down into the toilet is hard, especially because I think he still has so much fat on his body, that it wasn’t as easy as just “aiming it”.
I had to tell Mallory not to get too close because once Carson started to go, he was GOING. And going. And going.
And I was squealing and yelling and cheering like a madwoman.
And Mallory told me I hurt her ears. Whatever.
I know we are still a long way from him being diaper-free, but I am excited that he might start to know what is supposed to happen on that little potty seat!
We also have to upgrade the potty seat to have one of those cups over the front so he doesn’t spray urine all over the bathroom.
