Carson, Mallory

But it’s FINE!

Any morning that I leave for work and the kids are up, they want to wave at me from the front door – so after I pull out of the garage and start up the street, I have to stop and turn on the overhead light in my awesome mini-van and wave and blow kisses for about 10 seconds before I can continue on my way to work. Some days I’m in such a hurry that I forget to stop and wave and usually Mallory calls me in TEARS because I forgot to wave to her & Carson.

This morning I called home to see how the whiny kids did after I left for work and Mallory answered Rick’s phone and was HYSTERICAL. Hysterical as in SUPER FUNNY, not hysterical as in crying uncontrollably.

She informed me that I didn’t wave to her & Carson. I told her I was very sorry but that I was late for work and that she could give me a timeout when we got home from school. She said “nooo…”.

When I tried to insist on a timeout (“but I wasn’t being a good listener!”), she told me “but it’s FINE!” in this super happy cheery voice.

But her hysterical-ness didn’t end there. She then asked if I wanted to talk to Carson but he was outside in the car already. “But I’m gonna go outside. Here I go outside. I’m walkin’ to the car and now I’m (oomph) climbin’ in my carseat! Hi Carson – do you want to talk to mommy?”

Then she told me that there was a turtle on that part of daddy’s car where you look out. (I’m guessing the dew on his car’s hood may have looked like a turtle?)

Carson’s kiss wiping off has now extended to him sometimes wiping off kisses I give his SISTER. GAH!

And this morning after I gave Mallory her hug & kiss, she went and asked Carson if he wanted hugs and kisses. My sweet boy said “yeah! hugggssshhhhh and kissshhhhhh!” and ran to me to get some hugs and kisses. But he still wiped off the kiss. DAMMIT JIM!

  1. Okay, as the parent who has to deal with the “Daddy didn’t wave to me!!!!!!!!” melt-downs, I have to say JUST WAVE TO THE KIDS!!!!!!!
