Carson, Mallory

Gentle Feet

Mallory wanted to take Cooper for a walk today because she wanted to push her jogging stroller around the block.

I can’t get over how chunk-a-licous Carson’s legs look in these pictures. He is starting to lose some of his chunk but his legs honestly look like tree trunks in these mesh shorts and the little white socks and adidas shoes. I can’t STAND it.

With all the rain we’ve had, the kids & I have done some worm hunting. Which then morphed in to Carson hunting for every bug and worm and dead dandelion stem (because when dandelions are dead, their stems are all limp and pink/brown and TOTALLY look like worms). Whenever Carson spots something, he squats down and yells “EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW”.

And in a perfect example of nurture v nature – after spotting this roly poly (Mallory calls them her “friends”), Carson stood up and stomped on it. I have NEVER stomped on a bug or worms or anything on our walks, so it truly must have been a boy thing for him to want to crush it.

After he stomped on the roly poly, I scolded him and told him that it wasn’t nice and not to do that again, yada yada. We talked about showing the roly polies his “gentle hands” (because that’s the words they use at daycare for showing how to be nice to their friends).

Mallory, always quick on the draw, said “or…you can show them ‘gentle feet’”.
