It was Rick’s birthday yesterday and we had some friends meet us out for a little bowling party. I will admit that my four year old daughter beat me in the first game (hey – she had bumpers and one of those ramp thingies) but I came back strong in the second game. But that’s not the point of the story.
It’s sort of hard to watch all of these Fish kids grow up so fast. I love watching them all be such great friends. Mallory and Kaylie (of “Kaylie’s Kloset”, the source of most of Mallory’s cool clothes) are HYSTERICAL together, and Carson loves hanging out with Kaylie’s brothers. This also isn’t the point of the story.
The point is – we have to keep an eye on Mallory & Kaylie. Last night at the Red Restaurant (TGIFridays) after bowling (at like 9.30p, mind you) – Mallory was at the other end of the table with Kaylie. She ordered chocolate milk (at 9.30p…) and then split an Oreo Madness dessert with Kaylie. Things got crazy after that. The girls started filling an almost empty water glass with EVERYTHING and ANYTHING they could find – sugar, sugar wrappers, salt, pepper, ketchup, some chocolate milk, you name it.
And then had even more fun showing off their “GROSS DRINK!!!”. They were in heaven finding whatever they could that would fit in the glass.
Here are some of the standard Hen pictures. We didn’t realize until later why Rick was cracking up taking these pictures. The funniest thing is that Doug was the obvious choice to take the pictures because he was directly across the table from us, but the last time I asked him to take a picture, he zoomed in on our chests. I guess next time I have to make sure he’s not in the room? Notice Carson is PASSED OUT…he slept like this the ENTIRE time we were in the restaurant…bowling must have worn him out! And please excuse the poor picture quality – these were with the little camera and are completely unedited…
Here’s one last picture of Kaylie & Mallory. After seeing the pictures above, it’s obvious where Alex gets his photobombing skills…
It was fun to see so many of our friends and to have a successful night out with all of the kids. It’s getting easier (now that Carson is bigger) for us to stay out late as long as we don’t have anything to do the next day. Both kids slept until after 8a (which is unprecedented) and then Carson took a 3+ hour nap!
Perhaps you should be a little less worried about Mallory & Kaylie and their water glass and a little MORE concerned with the girl to their right in the pink. She appears to be chugging a beer in the first picture.
