Father’s Day / Sunday June 19, 2011 / Clear Lake Michigan
Guest Post by Grampa
This Father’s Day, I took my favorite daughter {Samantha}, my two favorite granddaughters {Lauren & Mallory} and two of my favorite grandsons {Liam & Carson} to my co-worker Judi’s house on Clear Lake. Two other little girls that were at Judi’s house (her granddaughter Brynn [7] and her friend Mia [5]) wanted to go tubing so I said I’d tow them around the lake a few times with my boat. My favorite granddaughters Mallory and Lauren wanted to ride in the boat also, and the adult spotter was Judi’s daughter, Jen, whom the kids took to immediately. After watching Brynn & Mia getting towed, Jen asked if Mal and Lauren wanted to try it. Lauren said sure. Mallory was not so sure and declined…until she saw how much fun her cousin Lauren had on one loop around the lake. Jen asked her if she’d like to ride in the tube with Mia like Lauren had just done. “Sure!” with big smile. She jumped into Lauren’s spot and off they went. After another loop, Lauren wanted to go again, but Mallory didn’t want to stop so she jumped into the tube with Brynn and Lauren got back in with Mia and after two trips around the lake, it was time to go home, to the dismay of Mallory and Lauren.
All they could talk about was how much fun tubing was and that they want to do it all the time and they can’t wait to get to Walloon Lake next week and tube all day long.
Mallory & Mia, after the two big girls hopped off the tubes to swim to shore.
My dad said I needed to write a post about Mallory’s tubing adventure the other day, and I in turn asked my dad to write the post about Mallory’s tubing adventure, thinking he’d come up with something really clever and fun.
Instead he wrote a post as if I’d written it. Apparently he doesn’t read enough blogs to understand what “guest post” means. When I explained that it wasn’t what I was looking for, he told me to change it however necessary. So I did.
I have to add that in the car on the way home, the girls were talking about how AWESOME it was to go tubing.
What “rewrite”? Other than the spelling of Brynn?
Grandpa- those are three of my favorite girls also- Ya did good!
TO EMILY: THAT IS NOT THE WAY I WROTE THE FIRST SENTENCE. SOMEBODY CHANGED IT! I WROTE “I TOOK ONE OF MY FAVORITE DAUGHTERS…..”
