I Dee Yit!!!

Today was my turn to yell “I DEE YIT!” again ;-)

Rick wanted to water-ski, and seeing as how my dad is leaving tomorrow (and taking his boat with him), today was the last day we had access to a driver so ski Rick did.

He started on the dock and made a loop and then dropped a ski and made another loop. The kids were both yelling and cheering and it was fun.

Rick asked if I was going to go. I tried to say “oh no…that’s OK. it’s too cold…yada blada”.

Then my dad reminded me that Emily hadn’t been able to get up on one or two skis when she was up last week.

On went my life jacket. I tried to start on the dock too but the minute my a$$ hit the water, it all fell apart (my attempt at skiing, not the dock or my a$$). I should back up here briefly and say that I tried to ski last summer on Go Blue Lake and couldn’t get up on one ski so I thought maybe I’d lost my touch. But I have had a suspicion that while my a$$ has grown since the last time I successfully waterskied, the big difference is that I now sport a cute swim skirt bathing suit and I wondered if that drag in the water, along with the drag of my a$$, was causing problems.

So as my dad circled around to get the rope to me so I could try again, I rolled my skirt into my waistband, and gave my dad the go signal.

Up I went.

GO ME.

But I quickly remembered that Rick had the camera so I held on tight with one hand and quickly unrolled the skirt with the other hand to spare you all the views of my thunder thighs.

I even dropped a ski as we came by the dock but now I’m wondering if I could start on one like in the olden days if I tried my new skirt rolling trick.

But I have to say that I’m a little nervous for my photo session I have on Thursday because my arms feel like jello. I’m not sure I’ll be able to hold my camera. Sorry, Amy. ;-)

Oh, and then Rick took Carson on the jetski. (Mallory went with me the other night, and then today with Rick but we don’t have pictures of that).
