I’ve thought about this a lot the last couple of days – as I blog from vacation – that it might be ridiculous to take time away from my great family and the great weather and the great views and great fun to put all this stuff on my silly family blog. And I’ve been trying to figure out why I want to spend this time documenting these memories.
After writing a huge post explaining and justifying, I realized I don’t have to defend myself. So I deleted it.
I blog for me.
I blog for us and our kids.
I am probably the biggest reader of this blog. I love clicking the “You might also like” links at the bottom of each post and taking a quick trip back in time, and laugh at something silly my kids did.
I have three hard cover books on our book shelf at home – full of my blog posts. One for 2006-07, one for 2008, one for 2009 and I need to get 2010’s done soon. I can’t imagine a funner baby book for my kids.
Even if it means I have to blog on vacation.
So yes, it is a little ridiculous to spend time at a keyboard when I could be spending more time doing stuff like watching my kids sweet tushies at the front of Grampa’s boat, but if I didn’t have my blog, I wouldn’t be able to remember that Mallory was yelling “AWESOME!” from the front of Grampa’s boat as we sped across the lake.
I hope you enjoy my little piece of the internet as much as I do.
You could also spend time picking that bathing suit wedgie of Mallory’s.
I love this blog too and plan on copying off of you when I have kids. It IS a great idea and your kids are going to appreciate it.
how do you hard cover your blogs
Blog2Print.com!
how huge are they? i feel like mine would be like $1000 for all the pics~
and once you had carson do you print 2 of them so that they can each have one later or no?
I was just on that darn blog for an hour!!!
I love your blog!! So jealous I didn’t have something like this when my boys were little.
I love it too, and was going to ask who you print with (because I need to get on it as I’ve let the real baby books slide). It’s so fun to go back and look at the pictures of just a couple years ago (And the videos!). Last night I was printing some of Alex’s first year and I can’t even believe he was my baby a few years ago! lol It’ll be nice to have this when they are grown.
I am so happy you blog! I love reading it & feel close to you all because I know what’s going on in your lives. Please don’t ever stop. BTW, how do you manage to take do many vacations? Hugs & Papa
