So, yeah. The crib. The one I disassembled this weekend and then had Rick take to the garage tonight? We have a problem.
I guess Carson was totally playing us with the whole “I totally won’t ever get out of my toddler bed I love it so much go ahead and sell the baby furniture” thing.
He refused to stay on his toddler bed tonight so he is in his pack & play now. The one he barely fits in.
Which begs the question…do we re-setup the crib? With Rick not home at bedtime for the next 3+ months, the …

See Ya
The end of an era.
This crib has been set up in my house for five years. It came down today.
Hold me.
Beds and Bears
disclaimer – this post was written from my phone at 10pm, thus the poor flow and anything else that makes it not the same great writing you are used to finding on this blog.
Bedtime here has been going very well with Rick busy with camp. I’ve moved bedtime up sort of significantly and I am happy to report that I think I’ve witnessed fewer tantrums, which is a good thing.
Carson’s room is painted and we moved his toddler bed in there after the paint dried. The first night with this new arrangement – he wanted to sleep in his crib …
Thank goodness for little boys
Thank goodness for little boys who love their mommy.
Coming home from my hair appointment tonight (where I went all dark brown for fall – no more blonde) I kept checking myself in the rearview mirror, and was freaking out about what my hair looked like and Carson said “wook pwetty, mommy”.
Sort of takes the sting off Mallory saying I don’t look like me anymore.
Two weeks
This morning in my house:
Mallory: “Wait, where’s daddy?”
me: “At work.”
Mallory: “Oh, right.”
me: “I’m so sad it’s football season.”
Mallory: “I’m not.”
me: “You’re not? How come?”
Mallory: “’Cause that way we can win!”
Sparkle
It’s a rare night that our kids are up after dark so we did sparklers the other night after a late night at Dexter Daze.
No one got burned or had any injuries from the sparklers – which is always good news!

Daily Picture Outtakes
Rick is still doing his daily pictures of the kids in front of the 6’ ruler he made.
Some pictures are really funny. Like these.
With Sugar on Top.
For some reason, Mallory is on this Disneyworld v Disneyland thing and was asking Carson if he wanted to go to DisneyLAND since we only have ever been to DisneyWORLD (actually, Mal, you’ve been to DisneyLAND but seeing as how you were only 7 weeks old, I can see why you don’t remember).
Carson, not having any idea what his sister is asking, smartly agrees with is bossy older sister and says “YETH! I GO TO DITHNEYLAND!”
I asked Mallory if she knew we could probably go to Disneyland if Michigan made it to the Rose Bowl this year and that she …
You drive me CRAZY
My no-more-naps Mallory is struggling with some self-control. I’ll admit, she comes by it honestly but HONESTLY – she is out of control sometimes. It’s killing me.
After dance class, I muttered under my breath “argh – you are driving me crazy!” and Mallory with the super-hearing-power says “What mom? I drive you crazy?”. I told her yes, she is driving me crazy.
MCB: “We talked about that at school today.”
STB: “You talked about what at school today?”
MCB: “About driving our moms crazy.”
STB: “When did you talk about this?”
MCB: “At lunch.”
STB: “Who said they drove their moms crazy?”
MCB: “Just me …
The Many Outfits of Mallory
To quote my friend Shauna: “Honestly”.
After school one day, Mallory wanted to change out of whatever she had on that day – she ran upstairs and was gone for forever. When I asked what the deal was she said she needed help with her belt.
I went to the bottom of the stairs and looked up and saw her dressed like this.
I admire her creativity but the polka dot shirt and plaid shorts with shiny pink belt was quite an outfit. She’s worn this ensemble a few times since then and it makes me laugh and shake my …
