Carson, Mallory

Homework

No, Mallory doesn’t have *real* homework from school yet, but we know lots of people who do Kumon. We weren’t ready to do real Kumon, so instead I got Mallory some Kumon workbooks from amazon.com and we are going to try to be consistent in working with her every day. Except Saturdays because we are too busy with football to take time out to do homework.

So M has some math workbooks. So far it’s just been practicing writing numbers and she is already sometimes bored and being grumpy about it. It isn’t making me excited for when she has real homework). She only has one or two more pages to go before real addition starts.

I told her that she was so smart and she was doing a great job. She asked if I had books like that when I was in kindergarten and I told her no. She then did this little head nod, eye squinty thing and said “because you weren’t smart enough?”. Watch it kid – I’m still in charge of your life for another 14 years…

I also bought some workbooks from the dollar section at Target – and those are perfect for when Carson wants to do his “om-erk” too.
