Mallory has been a little bit in love with playing teacher for a while. We got her a teacher set last Christmas with little report cards and hall passes. She makes Carson sit in a chair in the middle of the living room and instructs him to be “the kid” and then says “OK kid. What do you want, kid.”. So fun.
Well, if you add in her new math workbooks, she has now learned to take being a teacher a step further.
The other day she got a piece of paper out and started writing out some math and told me it was going to be homework for daddy. Then she asked “the kid” if he wanted some homework too and she made him a page of just adding zeroes.
To be honest, she comes by this honestly. We used to have a HUGE chalkboard in our basement growing up and I used to play school with my sister. I don’t remember giving her this hard of math problems though.
Here is a video of Mallory doing some of her math. She has since moved on to adding 2 to everything. It’s amazing how easy it is for her, yet how hard she makes it seem (also something she comes by honestly…the constantly being distracted and daydreaming while doing homework…) And she has to chew gum while doing her “homework”.
