Two funny things the kids said in the last 12 hours.
Last night – as we were approaching the concierge desk to ask for a pizza place recommendation – Mallory (whose second tooth is *this close* to coming out) whispered to me “Can you ask if the tooth fairy comes to this hotel?”.
And just now this morning, I could hear the kids stirring from their room next door, and then I heard Carson yell “ANYBODY DER?? IS DER ANYBODY DER??”
Month: December 2011
Denarding
Carson sort of likes football.
And he likes to run around the house and then fall down randomly, and then say he scored a touchdown.
Carson also likes Denard.
At my dad’s on Christmas day, we were watching the Michigan-Nebraska game and my dad told Carson do to what Denard does after he scores a touchdown.
I finally got a good video of it.
Christmas 2011
After all the buildup for Christmas…it was finally time.
I had to get up extra early because I forgot to put out one of Santa’s gifts for Carson (please don’t let Mallory read this blog until she already knows about Santa…), plus I wanted to get breakfast in the oven. I took the opportunity to take some pictures before the chaos started.
The kids came down and we had to let Carson go potty before letting Mallory at her presents. Carson was excited to get started so he came back in the room without any underpants. I am not able to share …
Merry Christmas Eve – 2011
We had Christmas Eve with my family here at our house this year.
After we opened presents, we ate and drank. My dad brought this stuff:
It was good – it made me feel like we were back in the Dominican Republic.
After everyone left, we drove around (Rick drove…I wasn’t fit to drive after that tropical sea breeze) and looked at Christmas lights. Mallory kept saying that she wished we had more lights like our neighbors and I told Mallory that putting up a lot of lights is hard work and daddy works a lot during the time you are supposed to …
Four days until Christmas
I’m still not sure how it’s already almost Christmas.
We have presents, some of them are wrapped. Some are still hiding in plain view. Luckily the kids haven’t yet gotten the snooping bug, because then Rick & I will have to get more creative in where we put stuff.
Our tree has ornaments on it, and Carson has already added, removed and re-added the candy canes (at first they were in one big cluster in one spot, now they are on every lower branch of the tree…it’s hysterical).
Mallory’s last day of school for 2011 is tomorrow and they get to wear their …
Gingerbread Houses
Mallory’s class had a gingerbread night at school in December. It was so cute – we had to bring in graham crackers and frosting…and the kids constructed their houses and added all the decorations. It was fun seeing how all of the different ways the kids made their houses.
Sorry for the not so great pictures – these were all taken with my phone. I didn’t want to be *that* mom with the big camera – and then worry about getting frosting or candy all over it. So I just used my trusty iPhone instead.
Do you wish?
Mallory just asked me “Do you wish you only had one kid?”
Me: “WHAT?!?!?! Why would you ask me that?”
Mallory: “Because then you wouldn’t have so much noise!”
Me: “Which kid should I not have?”
Mallory: “Carson. Not me, because Carson makes the most noise.”
2011 Christmas Tree
Here is our Christmas tree this year. No, we don’t have crazy funky lights, it’s just a filter we used on the lens that makes the lights all extra glowy or whatever. And it is a little hard to see here, but I’ll try to get a better picture of all of the candy canes Carson put on the bottom of the tree.
I am so excited for Christmas this year. We will actually be home for Christmas (Rick too!) and I’m fired up to do up Santa (complete with footprints in the house and everything). SO EXCITED.
Almost unbusy
Over a month ago, I posted this list of things I knew I needed to blog about. Let’s see how I’ve done…and then I’ll add to the list.
Mallory had a ruptured eardrum and RAGING ear infection a few weeks ago. (I’ll probably blog about this some day because it wasn’t one of my favorite parenting moments).
We went to the football game at MSU and we lost. (I probably won’t blog about that).
Mallory’s two bottom teeth continue to get wigglier and wigglier. She still believes that she isn’t allowed to lose these until 1st grade. (The pediatrician even …
Something is missing…
All my wishing and praying that my sweet girl would stay little…it’s not working.
Remember the two loose teeth I’ve been writing about? Yeah. We’re down to a loose tooth, singular, because my sweet girl lost her first tooth on Saturday.
Mallory had a dentist appointment on Tuesday of last week, and while her two loose teeth could have used some good cleaning, the dentist said he wasn’t going to touch them because they were so loose (and Mallory was afraid the dentist was going to pull them out).
The kids & I went out to dinner on Friday night and when we …
