Well, it wasn’t really TONIGHT. And it wasn’t last night, really. It was really the other morning. But I couldn’t resist a little Grease 2 reference…
Whatever.
We took the kids bowling the other day. And if you’ve never seen adorable little size 8 bowling shoes, you are missing out. O.M.G.
Rick & I had gone bowling two days before and my thumb got wrecked (like nerves are missing in it still today – it’s tingly and numb, oh but I DID bowl a 165), so just Rick & the kids bowled on Sunday. We had the gutter bumper things up and the …

Forgotten
I’d forgotten from when Mallory was around this age, but I am remembering quickly how much fun it is to see Carson try to say new words. He’s been babbling for a while, but now his babbling has transitioned into “words” that I think he thinks actually make sense.
So as he marches around the house, clad only in a diaper, his sister’s pink backpack, a monkey toy and a box of football guys in his hands, making some sort of noise, I imagine he is saying “Mom – look at me. Aren’t I hilarious?”
She Rocks.
Last class of rock climbing (for this session – she says she wants to do it again…) was yesterday. They headed to the big gym and Mallory climbed all the way to the top of the wall (~50’)!
Between Mallory, Allison, and two boys in the class – only the girls climbed to the top. The boys (who are the same age or a little older than the girls) barely went a third of the way up the wall. Girls rule, boys drool.
I am proud of my dress-wearing, wall-climbing, tap-dancing, ice-skating, football loving, smart little pumpkinhead girl.
All boy
Bedtime last night, Carson didn’t want to give up playing with his cars, so he brought them all upstairs with him. When one falls out of his hands and he struggles to get all five packed in his arms again, I think its funny. Is that mean of me?
Anyway – he’s adorable. I love him.
Babies
Watching my kids sleep is one of the saddest parts of my day. I can’t help but think, as I see them snoozing, that tonight is the last night they will be this little.
The way Mallory ends up cuddled in my spot of our king bed, her bears and books spread all over the place, and usually some random piece of kid jewelry on my nightstand.
And the way Carson is usually flat on his back, his puppy blankets not far from his hands, paci on the bed next to his head, and his sweet little lips still puckered up like …
Work Outing
My neighbor had this really fun idea that we should do this wacky workout video thing for thirty straight days and while she missed one day so far (something about running a race made her unable to do day 13), I’ve been able to keep up the streak…and today was day 20. Tomorrow starts the last third of the challenge – with level 3 – and the end is in sight. We get to have a fun night out as a reward for completing the challenge.
Amy & I usually meet up before work at 5am to get it over with …
Carson the Monkey
Love Carson’s new animal sound.
The Baby Boys
My sister & her husband had stuff going on yesterday so I was supposed to watch Lauren & Cameron for the day. Mallory & Lauren were excited to have a whole day together.
When my mom got here with all four of Emily’s kids (Shane was headed to a friend’s house for the afternoon, and my mom was going to take Liam) – Lauren & Mallory decided they wanted to go shopping with my mom & Liam, which left me with just the two baby boys – Carson and 8-mo old Cameron.
I almost had to call in reinforcements to help hold …
Tubeless Friday
After three years, Mallory hadn’t lost one of her ear tubes. And her cool ear doctor, the great Dr Possum Hunter, doesn’t like to have tubes in for more than three years, so we had to have her one tube removed. They said this procedure was basically the opposite of putting the tube in – meaning it was very routine. The only problem from Mallory getting tubes was that she woke up HORRIBLE from the anesthesia, so my only request of the anesthesia team (um, my sister) this time was to PLEASE don’t have that happen again.
Mallory was a wonderful …
Half Bath
I think I still owe this blog some pictures of our new house since we’ve lived here for about eight months. Well, here are the first official pictures of a room in our new house!
Most of the colors in our house are acceptable – like I wasn’t in a huge hurry to have to paint stuff (aside from painting Mallory’s room pink & purple as soon as we moved in) – but our half bath that is just off our kitchen really bugged me. It was a dark red/maroon/orangey color – and it made the rest of the more neutral …
