Yeah, so maybe you’ve heard me talk about how Mallory falls asleep in our bed every night. And that it doesn’t necessarily make me sad that she sleeps in there, but I’m starting to get nervous that as Carson is getting close to transitioning to a big boy bed, that he’s going to think he can fall sleep in our bed every night too. This has already started a little because he wants to read his bedtime book in our bed and then we move him to his bed.
And maybe you’ve heard me talk about how much Rick’s football schedule …
Year: 2011
Cago
We took a family trip to Chicago a few weeks ago. Rick & I had Cubs tickets and we had a babysitter (my cousin) lined up to watch the kids for us at the hotel while we went to the game.
As we neared the city Friday afternoon, and could start to see the big buildings, we pointed out to the kids that it was Chicago. When we got into the city and were driving amongst the big buildings, Carson would point out his window at a building right next to us at a stoplight, and would yell “CAGO!!!”. It was …
I’m not ready
I’m not ready for my baby girl to start kindergarten.
I’m not ready for my baby boy to be talking soooo much.
I’m not ready for Mallory to have a real loose tooth.
I’m not ready for Mallory to ride a school bus. I mean she’s my BABY GIRL!
Oh – and I’m not ready for football season.
Well, maybe I’m ready for football season. I’m just not ready for Rick’s football season work schedule.
I just need my life to slow down for like a DAY.
Please.
If you can’t laugh at yourself…
Lots of Cousins
We went to Chicago this weekend (more on that later) for a Cubs game (more on that later too) and got to meet up with lots of my cousins for dinner on Friday night.
The restaurant was noisy which was good for covering up my “not handling the time change well since we didn’t eat dinner until 8p Michigan time” kids but not good for trying to catch up with my cousins.
It was fun to see everyone though, and we’ll see them all again in October when Michigan plays at Northwestern!
Imam (my cousin Whitney’s boyfriend), my cousin Whitney, my cousin Rory, …
Take me away
Who needs a big relaxing bubble bath or ice cold beer when you have this sort of visual entertainment to help you forget about a rotten day at work?
My Tigers
We went to the Tigers game last night.
Carson was excited. He said he was going to catch a ball.
Mallory was not excited. She was hot. And Rick was making fun of her.
Carson was adorable when he would excitedly yell “GO TIGERS!!!”.
Unfortunately he didn’t catch a ball this time.
Mallory was more excited when Rick finally gave her $10 to go ride the merry-go-round and we saw Paws on the way. Carson wouldn’t pose with Paws.
Both kids were excited about the temperature dropping two degrees once the sun went down, as well as riding the tigers on the merry-go-round.
I was excited that …
A Request.
Dear Mallory –
I don’t know that I’ll be able to handle you starting kindergarten AND losing teeth at the same time. I can’t change the school schedule, but I can ask you to not play with your tooth that is a little-teeny-tiny-bit loose. Thanks.
Love, Mom.
A League of Her Own
Going out to play baseball with Carson in the yard usually means his sister all of a sudden wants to play baseball in the yard which usually means she joins in wearing whatever ridiculous outfit she was sporting at that moment.
She had on a doozy this day.
I should hope not…
This morning on the phone:
STB: “So you had a good morning today with daddy? I’m so happy! What did you decide to wear today?”
MCB: “A skirt and a jersey shirt”
STB: “A jersey shirt? What does it look like?”
MCB: “You’ll just have to see when you pick me up.”
STB: “Are you wearing Carson’s football jersey?”
MCB: “NOOO!!! (giggling) It isn’t Carson’s shirt. It’s mine!”
STB: “So you look like a football player today?”
MCB: “NOOO!!! (giggle again) Football players don’t wear any skirts!!”
