My kids couldn’t stand it that it was finally time for a home football game again. When Mallory woke up yesterday morning, I asked her if she was ready to watch the football game on TV and she yelled “NO! IT IS A HOME GAME!!!”
I was pretty proud of myself – I had my stuff all ready the night before so for the most part I just had to grab it and go in the morning. We were out the door by 9.50a, and after a stop to pick up my folks and the chicken and Miss Header, we got to the tailgate by 11a.
It was a gorgeous beautiful (albeit a little windy) day. I forgot how hard it is to be at a tailgate drinking and eating all day – I should have prepared better for the start of the season, like by doing two-a-days back in August and stuff.
Mallory took this picture. Her mom must be a photographer.
Carson took these two. He needs some work.
One of the funnest things about the first game of the season is seeing all of the folks who sit around us again. We have some cool neighbors and they love seeing how my kids have grown since last football season. The guy in front of us put Carson up on his shoulders so he could see, and didn’t care that Carson ate popcorn over his head. Haha.
After the game, we ran to see the band march by “…go Michigan…beat the Minutemen go!”. Carson had to cover his ears when the guys with the “sticks and drums” marched by.
Here is the funniest thing of the day:
The kids were super fantastic for the entire game – I am very lucky!!
