Despite my plan to take pictures of the kids opening all their gifts (I think have that plan every Christmas), I again ended up just letting myself sit back and enjoy the moment instead. So alas, I don’t have any gifts of our hotel room chaos.
But here are a couple that I snapped with my iPhone.
Our hotel Christmas tree. I bought this little tree about 10 years ago when my Great Aunt Marion scolded me for not having a tree in my apartment. This year Rick had it set up with the gifts under the tree when we got to the hotel (Rick left 12/21 for Florida, we showed up 12/23).
Mallory on Christmas morning with her money gift – McKenna, the American Girl Doll of the year. Santa had to work overtime to make sure she got this one.
One of my gifts…that girl cracks me up.
Carson videoing Mallory & Rick.
Why wouldn’t you go swimming on Christmas day!??!
Christmas night there was a big dinner for the family and team. After we ate, there was a sing-off with the players (each class had to sing a Christmas song, assigned by Brady), and then the coaches sang their version of the 12 Days of Christmas.
But during dinner, Carson either just slipped off his chair or fell asleep while eating and fell off his chair. He was a mess all afternoon – tired and grumpy – so it very well could have been the latter (and since we ended up in the ER two days later getting a diagnosis of croup, he was probably not feeling very well too). He fell asleep on me in about two minutes, and stayed asleep all during the singing, and a visit from Santa. Mallory, on the other hand, was BESIDE herself that Santa was there. All of the kids got a gift from Santa (a Michigan Outback bowl shirt and some candy), and then the party was over.
Santa was a good sport and posed for pictures with everyone (including the players). Carson wasn’t even interested in waking up to say hi to Santa. The best is that Santa called Mallory “pumpkin”…if that isn’t a ringing endorsement that Santa knows all, then I don’t know what is!!
Mallory also got a picture with two of her favorite dudes – Devin Gardner & Santa. There may be a new favorite quarterback in our house.
so crazy jealous! what an awesome time! give kisses and hugs to my C-dog, hope he feels better soon and tell Malls I have some new books for her when you get back :)
GO BLUE!
