My children still love going to football games. We did have that one glitch where Mallory wanted to know why her friend got more staying home days than her, but that was because there had been like 5 home games in a row, and then we did two away games in a row, and Mallory was burned out. But that was so 2011.
These days, the kids are awesome. They are great at the tailgates because there is tons of junk food and Carson can play football down the hill. We can watch the team come by in their busses two hours prior to kickoff. Rick usually makes an appearance to eat some chicken and whatever else is available. And I get to hang out with my friends and my folks and my kids all at once. Genius, actually.
Mallory is usually game for a little #selfie action.
The softball girls were honored before the game so as we walked up to the tunnel, the kids saw the girls and the girls saw the kids and there were lots of hugs. As I’m blogging about this four months later, Carson said “Sierra Romero is holding me!”
And then there is his other softball girlfriend, Sara. Usually when Carson sees her, he gets a shy grin and RUNS to give her a hug. As I’m blogging this 4 months later, Carson said he couldn’t remember Sara’s name, he just remembered she was one of the pitchers. I told him “she’s your girlfriend, remember?” and he said “NO! Only Sierra Romera is my girlfriend.”. Sorry Biggie and Miss Header and Zoe and the rest of you wanna-bes.
Mom had to get the group shot. My question is how in the hell do those girls all look so stinking cute (with done hair and makeup) for a football game?
The assistant equipment manager’s wife doesn’t automatically get to go down the tunnel before games, but sometimes we are able to get the fancy wristbands so we can see Rick before the game. It is fun to point out the players as they are warming up because they look SO HUGE in real life and up close. Carson tries to say hi but it’s loud and they are busy but one time Jake Ryan said “hey buddy!” to Carson and gave him a high five – that was pretty fun.
I tried to get a cute picture of me with my cute boy but he was being a STINKER and this is the best I got.
