I feel like I need to explain why my blogging has decreased so dramatically. I think part of it is because my kids are older which means I am spending more time running them around to activities instead of sitting at home while they go to bed easily at 7.30p. Plus because they are older, it’s harder to veg out in front of the television and watch trashy reality TV – since I used to do my best blogging while watching reality TV. I feel it would be irresponsible of me as a parent to let Mallory watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette or Real Housewives of Wherever with me. Luckily the kids like Property Borthers or Love It or List It, but then that leads me to the most recent reason why my blogging has tanked…
I realized just now that I never blogged about our trip to Lime Island with my dad last August, which is where my journey into yarn crafting started. [off to blog about that – be right back]
Anyway, I guess I need to give a recap of the past nine or so months.
Mallory is 7 now and graduated from 2nd grade and switches schools for 3rd grade. She did tap, ballet and jazz-hiphop this year at Dancers Edge. She quit gymnastics but did swimming and tennis on & off throughout the school year. She also did Brownie Girl Scouts, where yours truly was one of the co-leaders. She only wanted to do Brownies so she could sell cookies. Unfortunately she wants to sign up again next year. She has moved to 100% jeans and tennis shoes – what a difference two years makes, eh? Or even six months. She started wearing jeans over the winter but it was always with her fun brown boots. By spring it was all tennis shoes, all the time.
And then there was Carson. Carson recently turned 5 and graduated from pre-school in June. This past year he did rock-climbing with his friends Ben & Zoe, and also did some swimming and tennis throughout the year. He also started basketball clinic with some friends from school too. He’s knee deep in Safety Town in preparation for kindergarten this fall. I can’t stand it.
Things I need to blog about:
- Michigan football, including the bowl game
- The winter of 2014 when we broke all sorts of snow and cold records
- The time that Devin came to read to Mallory’s class again
- Carson’s birthday
- Our first family ski trip
- Carson’s birthday party in April
- Mallory’s dance recital
- Carson’s graduation ceremony and saying good-bye to Stony Creek
Ok, I got this.
