I’m sitting on the couch, listening to the oven cook my bacon, the dogs are curled up next to my chair, the boys are trying to quietly play MLB Baseball on the XBox and Mallory is still sleeping, hopefully (she’s come down with a spring cold and needs some rest).
It’s Mother’s Day. We are eyebrow high in the season of softball and baseball games. Amazingly the kid’s travel team tournament schedules haven’t conflicted so it hasn’t gotten too crazy (yet!). We’ll see what happens this summer if Mallory makes the all-star team again – might have some issues then. But the great ones adjust. Or so Rick says.
Mallory’s team won a tournament last weekend – hooray! They figured out that good things happen when you hit the ball. The girls were all pretty fired up to get a trophy and already have arrangements for how the big trophy will rotate through everyone’s houses.
We are in the middle of a tournament right now for Carson. Two games yesterday (they went 1-1) with a game today at noon; if they lose, they are done but if they win they play in the Championship at 4p. Friday night Carson was getting his stuff ready for the games the next day and couldn’t find his baseball pants. He wrote this note for Rick. I laughed thinking about any of the Michigan softball girls or baseball boys leaving him notes like this.
Saturday was a gorgeous day for baseball – blue skies and puffy clouds.
I’m a lucky mama to be able to call these two kids mine. They frustrate the *bleep* out of me sometimes and I yell more than I should sometimes but I guess they are pretty fun to have around.
You Are Incredibly Blessed
