If only I really could take fantastic pictures of my kids in every “I TOTALLY want to take a picture of them in that outfit!” outfit.
The reason this doesn’t happen as often as you’d think it should is because my kids are completely and totally sick of the camera. Pretty fun to be a photographer and your favorite subjects run from you, screaming “NOOOOO!!!!”
Here is the infamous Dominican “Gepluglick” (Republic) sundress and an overly adorable pink & white button down shirt. Add in a gorgeous day and grass that was finally starting to turn green, and some kids who were …

It’s getting HOT in here
After an insanely brutal winter, and an unbelievably long spring, and entirely too much rain, it seems like maybe – FINALLY – summer is almost upon us.
The forecast Tuesday called for a high of 63 and a chance of rain.
When we got home from work/school, it was gorgeous and sunny and in the EIGHTIES!
So I did what any good mom would do – I grabbed the hose, my camera, a beer and a lawnchair and let my kids play in our ghetto baby pool.
More Softball
The theme for this past weekend was softball softball softball and more softball. The weather was glorious so the kids & I made it to all the games.
I’d like to point out that while I do like to keep my kids on a decent routine and schedule, I am not a super stickler for enforcing strict bedtimes. However, it makes life way easier to keep things pretty normal. So this weekend’s schedule wasn’t one of my finer parenting moments.
Softball Friday night, game started at 8p. Carson is usually in bed by 7.30p, Mallory by 9p. I didn’t leave the ballpark …
Ziplining Away…
My dad loves being a grandpa. Like he LOVES it. He doesn’t love changing diapers, but he loves hanging out with my kids and Emily’s kids, and spoiling them pretty rotten. Santa ALWAYS fills stockings for the grandkids at my dad’s house, and the Easter Bunny seems to make a stop at my dad’s house to hide all of his eggs so the grandkids have to go help my dad find all the eggs the EB hid, and then of course they get too much Easter candy…
So basically my dad is a big kid.
This past Christmas, my dad got a …

WES GO BOOOO!!
My kids are turning into some pretty fierce softball fans this year – it’s pretty fun to watch…both my kids and the games, since we can now stay for the whole game instead of me fighting to keep them entertained. Both kids yell “LET’S GO BLUE!!!” (“WES GO BOOOO” in Carson’s case) and shake their pompoms most of the game. We’re trying to teach Mallory about the scoreboard and how to tell how many runs we have…that’s pretty fun to watch too, when she yells out “MOM!! MICHIGAN HAS SEVEN AND THE SPARTIES ONLY HAVE ZERO!!!”.
One game I do play, …
Anything Mallory can do, Carson can do better.
Honestly – they are too much.
We’d just gotten home and I unbuckled Carson and Mallory got a little huffy that I didn’t unbuckle her first so she did this pose and then Carson had to do it too.
But it’s FINE!
Any morning that I leave for work and the kids are up, they want to wave at me from the front door – so after I pull out of the garage and start up the street, I have to stop and turn on the overhead light in my awesome mini-van and wave and blow kisses for about 10 seconds before I can continue on my way to work. Some days I’m in such a hurry that I forget to stop and wave and usually Mallory calls me in TEARS because I forgot to wave to her & Carson.
This morning I …
Mad Scientists
It was Rick’s birthday yesterday and we had some friends meet us out for a little bowling party. I will admit that my four year old daughter beat me in the first game (hey – she had bumpers and one of those ramp thingies) but I came back strong in the second game. But that’s not the point of the story.
It’s sort of hard to watch all of these Fish kids grow up so fast. I love watching them all be such great friends. Mallory and Kaylie (of “Kaylie’s Kloset”, the source of most of Mallory’s cool clothes) are HYSTERICAL …
Little Snot
I am not ready for this!
Gave my baby boy a kiss today after school, and that little booger-picker WIPED OFF MY KISS. I thought SURELY he was just wiping away a stray hair or something so I gave him another kiss. Again – he wiped his lips.
So I asked if he was wiping off my kisses and he laughed and said “YESSSSSSSSSSSSS”.
What is going on??! He isn’t old enough to do this yet. Boo-hoo.
