Carson can’t NOT do everything his sister does, even when it makes absolutely no sense.
Take this morning, for instance – Mallory had finished her cereal and was drinking the milk from her bowl (c’mon, you know everyone does that).
Carson, not to be outdone, lifted his bowl to his mouth too. But he only had dry cereal in it.
And then there was dry cereal all over the floor.

23 Months
We are just over three weeks away from my baby boy’s second birthday. My baby is almost TWO! I can’t even begin to talk about how sad it makes me. Every day that he learns something new – like walking down steps and not wanting/needing to hold my hand – means he’s that much father away from being my baby.
So even though it makes me super sad, I still laugh at him a lot. He will sit and read books now – last weekend he was perched in his sister’s pink beanbag, “reading” his Wolverine book.
Last night I recorded us …
You hurt my ears
This morning when I got Carson up, his diaper was totally dry. I thought I’d put him on the potty for a minute and see if he’d go. His teachers have been putting him on the potty at school for a while because he has shown an interest because most of the other kids in his class are working on getting potty trained, but as far as I know, he’s never gone at school.
Anyway, back to this morning. After I asked if he wanted to go, he said “uh, YEAH!” and walked right over to the little potty, sat down …
My adidas
Carson was blessed with his first pair of adidas last week. I asked him if I could take a picture of his new shoes and this is what I got, complete with an “EEEEEEeee” (cheese). Nice, huh?
So apparently he’s too cool to pose properly to show of his new adidas, so I’ll have to share what I could get.
But he quickly dumped his new kicks in favor of his sister’s Fancy Nancy shoes. Sorry for the poor quality – it’s almost as though he knew I would be blackmailing him with these someday and he refused to really let me …
Punta Cana–the end
Here are the last of the pictures from our big vacation. We had a great time – once we got past the leaky ceiling and long day of travel. We spent all day everyday at the pool, except when we were at the snack bar or lunch buffet eating enormous amounts of french fries, pizza or nachos with nasty liquid cheese. My dad & Emily did go scuba-diving one day, and the grown-up boys went deep-sea fishing (Rick also did some deep-sea puking…)
Um, can you say sunburn? My only sunscreen screwup of the week…
Me & my darling sister.
My mom. She …
Chocolate
The resort last week had a Kids Club – and while Mallory & Lauren only visited it for about an hour one day, they still enjoyed the nightly show that the Kids Club put on. There were usually a bunch of dances and games, and one of the songs totally got stuck in my head. I asked the Kids Club lady to teach it to us the day we left and she was a great sport and let us record her doing the dance.
I found the song on iTunes, and ended up finding the dance on Youtube (this video is …
The real explosion
Carson’s word explosion is continuing. The coolest thing is that while most of his “words” aren’t super clear, he is starting to repeat you when you ask him to say a word. On it’s own, you wouldn’t know that “neh” is “Shane”, but that’s how he says Shane when I ask him to say it. This is a huge improvement over a month ago when you’d ask him to say a word and he’d give you a look like “oh HELL NO”.
So, without further ado, here are his latest words, followed by the English version.

Canvas-able
I had a goal on this trip to get a canvas-able picture of us. I hired my sister to take our pictures one night on the beach.
Success.
Hola
Mama’s Boy
While I still can, I am making this boy of mine love his mama like he should.
Which means that he got a tattoo of my name on his bicep today. He smudged it a little before it totally dried, but I still LOVE it.
Here’s my sweet baby showing off his guns (he flexes like this when we ask “where are your muscles?”).
Mallory got a little flower on her foot.
