Man, did Mallory have big round cheeks and face back at ~3mos, especially compared to Carson!
And that straight dark hair…who knew what a curly girl she’d turn into!

I know I may be jinxing myself…
…but my sweet baby boy is the best little baby.
We have our evening routine finally figured out. We get home from school, I nurse him and then he plays or maybe naps. Then he eats cereal with us while we eat dinner (sometimes Mallory feeds him – THAT is hysterical). And then he gets a bath because he’s a mess after dinner. He LOVES to kick and splash in the water and we could leave him in there for an hour if we wanted to because he loves it that much. After bath we load him up with Aquafor for …
Family Stuff
I have neglected to post some family stuff the past week or so – so here goes.
Football started. So Rick is gone a lot. He barely gets home in time to say goodnight to the kids each night. We went to see him at practice one day last week, and Mallory ran up to him and said “Daddy? I want you to come home with my mommy right now”. I had to swear up & down to Rick that I did not put her up that.
There was a family day last weekend with an open scrimmage and then …
Carousel of Progress
The “Carousel of Progress” is one of Rick’s favorite attractions at Disney. It’s a 21-minute show where you “…travel through time from decade to decade as the family discovers fantastic new technologies that make their lives more easy, comfortable and fun…”
We’ve had our own “Carousel of Progress”, where my darling children have discovered fantastic new skills that make mommy’s life more easy…
Mallory learned to pump her legs on the swing (so we’ve alleviated some of the “can you push me??” requests).
And Carson can re-pacifier himself.
How happy am I?
The conclusion is, there is no conclusion
So, I’ve been peanut-free since the beginning of July and Carson’s “possible peanut allergy” rash cleared right up. Correction, I’ve been peanut-free since the beginning of July with the exception of one Nutter Butter inhaled before I remembered I am not supposed to be eating peanut butter but it was SOOOO good. But anyway.
Well…we went to the allergist on Monday to see about Carson’s “possible peanut allergy” rash.
And all we know now is that I still can’t eat peanuts. They did a skin test and it came back negative – but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an allergy. It …
Carson's 4mo appointment
Carson’s 4-mo doctor’s appointment/check-up was today.
Everything is great. Meeting all the milestones he’s supposed to.
However, he is only 15.6 lbs (50-something percentile, down from the 100-percentile when he was born). They aren’t worried about it, and the pediatrician even pulled up Mallory’s growth chart and surprisingly her weight leveled off at her 4-mo appointment too – and then it shot back up at her 6-mo appt.
So he’s thinning out. But he’s still “growing” – to the tune of 4.5 inches in 4 months.
ETA: Mallory gained 5lbs in her first 4 months, and also grew 4.5″ in 4 months. They must …
My sweet boy is back
Man – we had a rough couple of nights. I didn’t sleep at all Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. Carson was up and pretty inconsolable almost all night those nights.
On Friday morning we got to daycare and realized he was burning up (I wrote about the 101.8F fever) so I brought him home with me and made an appointment with the doctor for that afternoon. He got diagnosed with croup (was/is going around his classroom) and they gave him a steroid shot to help calm down the swelling in this windpipes. Then he hardly slept at all – …
Big & Little
What you don’t see in these pictures is Mallory on purpose falling backwards. So she is the big STINKER, not big SISTER.

Carson telling us about his day
I guess watching this, it’s easy to see where Mallory got “…and what else?”
Carson at 4months
My baby boy is almost four months old. I can’t believe how fast time is going and I also can’t believe that I am wishing him to get bigger (and easier to entertain). He is such a happy little kid almost all of the time and I need to slow down and enjoy this time where he lets me hold him. You hear so many times that boys are soooo different from girls – and since Mallory wasn’t/isn’t a super-cuddly baby/toddler, I’m afraid that this boy of mine will be even less cuddle and I’ll really regret …
