Before encouraging (or allowing) your kids to start an insane collection, think about what they will do with the collection when they are 40 (or what their wife will do with the collection). These are all full of baseball cards.
And all of these bins were under our stairs and would have prevented our whole family from taking shelter during the tornado, had I chosen to take shelter.
I’m moving them today.

Evolution of a Bathroom
Well, we’ve been in our house for over a year (still haven’t had that housewarming party – oops!) and we are slowly tackling projects. Rick painted Mallory’s bedroom right when we moved in (she wanted “three walls pink, one wall purple”) and then we did our guest bath (I think I blogged about that?) and we (or rather Rick) finally moved on to the kids’ bathroom. It was the only room that really needed to be painted except I’m growing to hate all the other colors of paint in the rest of our house – but not enough to paint …
Won’t you be my neighbor
Who wouldn’t love living in a neighborhood like ours, with neighbors that text you at 8.30p asking “Are your kids asleep? Want to come have a beer on the deck?”
Um, OK!
But I do have to share this picture, because I can…sometimes we live in the Dexter trailer park, like when the aforementioned neighbors put all their deck furniture out in the yard and start grilling on the grass. How embarrassing! Luckily they had their deck stripped and put back together before they invited us for beers.
Half Bath
I think I still owe this blog some pictures of our new house since we’ve lived here for about eight months. Well, here are the first official pictures of a room in our new house!
Most of the colors in our house are acceptable – like I wasn’t in a huge hurry to have to paint stuff (aside from painting Mallory’s room pink & purple as soon as we moved in) – but our half bath that is just off our kitchen really bugged me. It was a dark red/maroon/orangey color – and it made the rest of the more neutral …
Here’s the outside
I don’t think that I’ve ever shared a real picture of the outside of the house so here you go.
Mallory made this drawing and told me to put it on the door before my family came over on Sunday (I drew the Christmas tree and she filled in the rest). Never mind our brown wreath above it ;-)
