Mallory started crawling last night.
I’ll post more later if I have any spare time after chasing my 8-mo old around the house.

I don’t even know what to write. I am still laughing at my daughter.
Timeline:
*put Mallory to sleep in her crib
*hear Mallory squawk but only for a minute
*go check on Mallory an hour later before heading upstairs
*find Mallory passed out asleep, doing a face-plant into the bumpers (I didn’t even know she knew how to sit up from a lying down position!)
*start laughing and run *quietly* to the living room to get Rick
*try to keep Cooper quiet as we hustle back to see her
*Rick gets video while I snap pictures
This is probably why they say bumpers are bad to have in …
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about Cooper and Mallory and how they will hopefully grow up to be the best of friends. It then got me thinking about Cooper’s behavior of late.
For the first 1.5 years, he earned full run of the house. We carefully did this in stages: crate all day & night; crate all day, with us at night; blocked off in the entryway all day, full run of the house at night; allowed in entryway & upstairs during the day, full run at night; then full run all day every day. The only things he ever …
Is it possible?
Can it be?
Does Mallory have too many shoes?
You be the judge.
These are all shoes that fit her now. The good news is that I only bought the pink pair in the very first row. The rest are courtesy of K’s Kloset. How happy are we that Doug & Sue didn’t have another girl?!?! My sister is a good source of girl hand-me-downs too – we call those the Lauren Collection.

We are starting to wonder if Mallory is going to bypass crawling and move right to walking. She has learned that she can move by rolling but if she’s …
In our “Melloland” post, we incorrectly stated that Mallory had her first non-family babysitter on Saturday June 30th. Mallory’s first visit to a non-family babysitter was actually back in February when Mike & Rachel watched her while I played hockey. We apologize for the inaccuracy of our reporting.
Busy busy weekend at our house. Mallory got to go to her first baseball game Friday night when we went to the Tigers-Red Sox game ~ I thought it would be good practice for football season. Well I quickly learned that Mallory might not be going to the games with me this fall, at least not the ones I want to actually watch. The Tigers crushed the Sox and supposedly there were a bunch of great plays ~ we had fun though even though I didn’t get to see much of the game. Brendan and his dad were there too, …
As promised, here are 4th of July pictures of Little Miss Mallory.
My dad ended up coming out today and we boated up to Zukey Lake Tavern for a late lunch/early dinner. My dad the engineer was in heaven because we gave him a project (removing the speakers that don’t work).
Mallory has learned to fall asleep pretty quickly on the boat which makes it easy to not have to watch her every minute but it sort of paralyzes me since I’m the one stuck holding her the whole time!
Mallory was awesome at the Tavern, what with so many people …
Lazy, lazy day. The weather isn’t nice so we are stuck inside. Mallory should be wrapping up her morning nap any minute now. Poor girl takes 3 hour naps in the morning when she’s at home, but at daycare she barely takes a couple of 30-40 minute naps. They say it’s because she is way too interested in all of the other kids and needs to keep an eye on all of them! Rick & Cooper curled up on the couch for a snooze also – how a 65lb lab can think he’s a lap dog is beyond me. We …
We had a great weekend – the weather was outstanding and we did a lot of relaxing! It was so nice to not have anywhere to be most of the weekend so we took advantage of it and spent a lot of time on the water. Mallory continues to LOVE the lake and the boat and even giggled when some water sprayed up into her face.
Rick & I had a wedding to go to on Saturday so Mallory spent the late afternoon/evening with our friends. They have a big chocolate lab and a silver lab – who are Cooper’s best …
Mallory is *thisclose* to crawling. She actually will roll to her stomach and reach like crazy for stuff. She is working on her spin move ~ she will twirl around on her tummy to reach a toy I’ve set behind her. As exciting as it is to watch her develop these new skills, I am equally anxious about what will accompany her being mobile.
*no more worrying just about the dog licking the dirty dishes while we are loading up the dishwasher;
*the baby gates we bought 2 years ago will finally really be used for a baby;
*the dog will probably finally …
