Mallory: “Does (sic) all of the other bad teams want to do something bad to Denard?”
Me: “Yes”
Mallory: “But then our guys want to save him?”
And who says it’s not fun to watch football with your kids?

Busy
So, we’ve been busy. Thus the lack of real posts lately.
Here’s a summary of what’s been going on.
Mallory had a ruptured eardrum and RAGING ear infection a few weeks ago. (I’ll probably blog about this some day because it wasn’t one of my favorite parenting moments).
We went to the football game at MSU and we lost. (I probably won’t blog about that).
Mallory’s two bottom teeth continue to get wigglier and wigglier. She still believes that she isn’t allowed to lose these until 1st grade. (The pediatrician even noticed that Mallory had loose teeth because they are getting …
Birthday Girl – 2011
Mallory on her 5th birthday. And then Carson had to invade.
Wise beyond her years.
Michigan is at Iowa this weekend. The game starts in 25 minutes.
Mallory just asked if the game started yet…I told her no.
She said “Oh. So everyone is still tailgating?”
The stars are aligned…
Thursdays of away game weeks aren’t my favorite nights. I’m tired, the kids are tired, and Mallory has rock climbing until 7p on Thursdays (and the kids are usually close to getting in their pajamas around 7p, so to not even be home at 7p is already a strike against us).
Then add in getting home, getting diapers changed, getting in pajamas, getting teeth brushed, getting kids to take their various asthma and coughing medicines, plus getting kids in bed and to sleep as quickly as possible because with Rick gone, I have to get kids to their various destinations early …
Halloween 2011
When we started talking about Halloween this year, I wasn’t sure what Mallory would say she would want to be. I thought it would be some sort of princess/fairy hybrid thing.
So color me tickled when she said she wanted to wear Bryce’s old Michigan football uniform for Halloween this year. There was still lots of time for her to change her mind so color me even more tickled when she consistently and unwaveringly told us and everyone that she still wanted to be a Michigan football player for Halloween.
I really got excited when I found out Mallory got to wear …

Carson 2.5 yrs old, Preschool.

Ms Mallory
Mallory has been a little bit in love with playing teacher for a while. We got her a teacher set last Christmas with little report cards and hall passes. She makes Carson sit in a chair in the middle of the living room and instructs him to be “the kid” and then says “OK kid. What do you want, kid.”. So fun.
Well, if you add in her new math workbooks, she has now learned to take being a teacher a step further.
The other day she got a piece of paper out and started writing out some math and told me …
Road Trip
Nothing like a beautiful fall weekend with 80* weather for a night football game on the shores of Lake Michigan!
The kids and my folks and I took to the highway (or espressaway as Mallory still calls it) to watch Michigan play “the Kitties” (Northwestern).
We made a stop at Lou Malnatis in Chicago for my favorite pizza before going to Evanston. We tried to scope out parking and tailgating options but they don’t have golf courses and high schools nearby (and for some reason my package of football parking passes didn’t come with a pass for Ryan Field…)
So, we thought we …
Homecoming Week
Homecoming was last week in our town – and I think it is ADORABLE how they talked it up all over the place, even in Mallory’s elementary school. She told us early in the week that she was going to go to a PARADE – even before I realized it was Homecoming and stuff.
So on Thursday when I met her at the bus stop she was all “AND I THAW (saw) THE BAND AND TWO FOOTBALL PLAYERS CAME TO MY CLASS AND SHOWED US THEIR GEAR”.
And I further learned that she didn’t ask a teacher to help her open part …
