The resort last week had a Kids Club – and while Mallory & Lauren only visited it for about an hour one day, they still enjoyed the nightly show that the Kids Club put on. There were usually a bunch of dances and games, and one of the songs totally got stuck in my head. I asked the Kids Club lady to teach it to us the day we left and she was a great sport and let us record her doing the dance.
I found the song on iTunes, and ended up finding the dance on Youtube (this video is …

More from my Zoo
Mallory: “Mom, what time is it?”
Me: “10.46.”
M: “Hmm. That’s weird. 10.46? That’s really weird.”

Mallory saw me holding Cameron one afternoon at the pool and immediately her baby radar picked up on it. “Mom! Can I hold baby Cameron?” I told her that later, after she got out of the pool, that she could hold the baby. That night at dinner, Mallory went over to my sister. “Um, Aunt Emily? Um, can tomorrow, um, can I hold…?” Emily interrupted her and said “do you want to hold him right now?” Mallory was in heaven.

Canvas-able
I had a goal on this trip to get a canvas-able picture of us. I hired my sister to take our pictures one night on the beach.
Success.

Mama’s Boy
While I still can, I am making this boy of mine love his mama like he should.
Which means that he got a tattoo of my name on his bicep today. He smudged it a little before it totally dried, but I still LOVE it.
Here’s my sweet baby showing off his guns (he flexes like this when we ask “where are your muscles?”).
Mallory got a little flower on her foot.
More Punta Cana pictures
I dragged the kids out to the beach before breakfast the other day. I got nothing good of the two of them together. ARGH.
Mallory cleaning her feet off…
Then that night we tried to get one of all the grandkids on the beach in jeans and white shirts. I haven’t finished going through all of them yet, but here are some of my favorites.

Carson doing his “sleepy face” for me. CRACKS.ME.UP.
And these are all from my little camera from earlier in the week. I have videos to share too but they will have to wait until I …
Punta Cana, the beginning
Here’s the diary of our trip (so far).
We had to wake up at the a$$ crack of dawn on Saturday to make our 8.30a flight out of Detroit. The kids did fairly well, and Carson napped on the first leg, and Mallory should have napped on the second leg but the excitement of having a Gigi and a Grandpa and an Aunt Emily & Uncle Mike, and four cousins at her fingertips was too much to allow her to close her eyes.
We arrived in Punta Cana around 4p local time (3p ET) on Saturday. After loading all twelve of us …
Mallory’s latest
Mallory came to work with me the other day – she had a doctor’s appointment here so it was just easier to bring her in with me, walk over for her appointment, and have Rick pick her up than it was to have him bring her at 8.45a, deal with parking, etc.
Mallory loves coming to work with me. She likes the water cooler (and the cone water cups that I find half-full in the roll of blue tape I always have on my desk), she likes the big dry erase board in my office, she needs to use every.single.office.supply …
I love Michigan
I am belatedly blogging these pictures from February – I don’t think I ever posted them back then. (And I’m posting them at the tail end of the a huge heat wave where we have had weeks and weeks of 90* weather…I really love all the seasons!!!)
The park near our house has a little hill just perfect for sledding. We trudged through the snow from the Blizzard of 2011 and took the kids to the park. Mallory LOVED it and Carson sort of liked it, but he REALLY liked sliding down the slide and landing on his bum in the …
A Sad Light
I love the kids’ daycare. I think I’ve said that before. But really I do. I love the arts & crafts that they do, because it means I don’t need to be super creative at home. I love that they get outside twice a day (weather permitting), because it means I don’t have to be super motivated to do it when it’s cold & dark in the winter.
Each week at school is a different theme, and Mallory’s class does lots of crafts to coincide with the theme of the week; it’s pretty funny to see the stuff she comes home …
