My house this morning.
Does it make me Mom of the Year to leave Mallory like this while I grabbed the camera and took five pictures?
I brought her carseat in so I could move the straps up (ohmygosh she is getting SO big) and she couldn’t resist buckling herself in. But then she fell backwards and couldn’t get up. And then her brother decided to come laugh at her too.

Chain Chain Chain
Can you see the paper chain on my Christmas tree in this picture?
It’s sort of hard to see, so I’ll share another non-artistic picture so you can see it better:
There are two chains – a really long one and a short one.
I had a very special paper-chain maker this year:
I am so proud of my crafty little girl. I only had to show her once how to use the glue stick and to put the paper together and she came out with 15-piece chain for our tree.
Markers are for paper
After months of getting Ms drawn on her hands (for Michigan and for Mallory), Mallory started putting her own block Ms on her hands:
But when Mallory did this:
to her hands, we instituted a new rule in our house.
Markers are for PAPER, not for hands.
Belated Pictures
These pictures are soooooo last year.
In my busy-ness with my business (get it? my photography “business” that I’ve been so “busy” with? I’m so clever), I never posted these shots from the O-State tailgate.
Firstly – a bevy of self-portraitsCheri & me
my dad & me
Rick’s buddy Kevin and me
Carson pulling Bryce’s hair
Shocking…Mallory is eating!
With Rick’s buddies again – Mike & Kevin.
With my children at the game…who’d-a-thunk we’d be coat-less at the OSU game (but I needed to scramble and get Carson a snowsuit for the Delaware State game back in October??)

Sharing Sister
I took the kids to the mall yesterday because we had some things to return. Good mom that I am, I talked Mallory out of wanting to play at the mall play place by promising her a pretzel.
After she gave some to Carson, I told her she was a good sharer.
“No, I’m a good sister”.
Yes you are, sweetheart. Yes you are.
All Knowing
I called home this morning (Rick is home with the kids).
Mallory answered the phone and said “Hi Mommy!!”
I asked her how she knew it was me on the phone.
She told me “Because I was just knowing it was you.”
LOVE HER.
Some things never change
Mallory & Rick were rough-housing in the living room (don’t tell my mom) and they were laughing and playing and making a lot of noise.
All of a sudden Mallory announced that she had to go potty. Rick let her get up and said “that’s the best way to get out of being tickled”.
TOTALLY reminded me of when I was little and that same excuse worked to get me out of being tickled to death by my dad.
Lace ‘em up
This picture is 2.5 weeks old, but better late than never, I suppose!
We, well Rick (I was pregnant last winter) tried to take Mallory ice skating last year and it didn’t work out so well. She only wanted me and I couldn’t step on the ice. So I think she lasted all of 43 seconds last year.
But this year is a whole new year.
We’ve taken her skating the past three Sundays and I think it’s safe to say that she LOVES it. The first two weeks Carson & I had to watch from the stands, but this past …
Yesterday
MCB: Dad – are you going potty?
RB: Yes
MCB: Are you standing up or sitting down?
The other night before bed, I noticed Mallory had a big hard booger in her nose, but I figured I’d let it go. I usually tell her to look up so I can see up her nose and then she usually lets me dig them out for her).
Anyway, the next day on the way to the mall, she asked for a kleenex – did some digging – and said "Hey mom – I got the one you were looking for yesterday".
(Mallory …
