Well, today was a big day. My little girl “graduated” from the toddler room at daycare and will start in the preschool room on Monday. This means new teachers and new procedures. This new room is all about teaching the kids independence…for instance – at lunch, there is a table of cups (BIG kid cups, not sippy cups!) of water and milk and the kids go pick out their own drink for lunch time. No more daily report cards with potty & meal & nap details. And Mallory has her own cubby now (not just a hook) – Rick said …

Her Mother's Daughter
Mallory, Carson & I went to my sister’s after school yesterday and Mallory stubbed her toe and got a nice little scrape on it. And because we were there so long and I didn’t want to make dinner, we planned to stop & get pizza on the way home.
Mallory told me “Pizza will make my toe feel better, mommy”.
Pizza solves a lot of my problems too.
She is my daughter.
Princess Poops, Gets Princess Underpants
Fun headline, eh? :-)
While we’ve been on the potty training train for a few months, only recently has Mallory been wearing training pants (with rubber pants over them) all day at school. We usually get through most of the evening with the training pants but then she’ll poop or sometimes pee in them and it brings us back a few notches (you know, the old “two steps forward, one step back” phenomenon). Anyway, she’s been doing MUCH better so last week at Target I let her pick out her own big girl underpants. She chose the pack with the Disney …
Picture Day
Not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but June 6 must be a good day for Mallory to have her picture taken. Check out these shots from yesterday, and then visit this post for pictures from June 6, 2008!
Under these pictures there is a new thing I’m trying out for picture viewing. Let me know what you think.

Some fancy pictures
While it pains me to pay money to have someone else take pictures of my kids, we have to bite the bullet occasionally in order to get a family photo.
Here are some pictures we had done back in May – Carson was ~6wks old here.
I really think I can take pictures like this of my family & friends. Anyone want to be my guinea pig?
Princess Sassy Pants
Mallory’s language development and usage is killing me. Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth…I have NO idea how she comes up with it.
Yesterday leaving daycare, I asked her to leave her coat on because we were leaving. She kept unzipping it and trying to take it off. Then Princess Sassy Pants told me “Don’t tell me about my coat!”.
I was SURE I hadn’t heard her right, so I asked her to repeat herself. Again she said “DON’T tell me about my COAT!” while she continued to pull her arms out.

Carson on the left, Mallory on the right. Both at 8wks.

Favorite
Mallory wanted me to move Cooper’s dog bone for her.
She asked “Hey MOM! Can you do me a favorite?”
“The doctor will fix my hand”
We went to the doctor to have Mallory’s hand looked at today; turns out she has Cellulitis. So she is on antibiotics for the next week or so. We have to keep an eye out for a fever or streaking red marks up her arms – if either of those happen, we are to call the doctor right away. When I picked Mallory up at daycare today, I told her we were going to have the doctor look at her hand. She proceeded to tell everyone that we were going to the doctor and that the doctor was going to …
Minnie Mouse Hand
Poor Mallory has always had horrible reactions to bug bites and her first mosquito bite of the season didn’t disappoint. She was actually bitten down by her thumb but her entire hand is swollen up. It is puffy like a big Minnie Mouse hand. We put Caladryl on it this morning but daycare still called to report that it felt warm and was itchy. I gave her some Benadryl tonight and it seemed to reduce some of the swelling and she wasn’t itching it as much. I get some nice welts from mosquito bites so she definitely gets this allergy …
