I forgot about this story. In the car last night Mallory told me to sing Patty-cake, or so I thought. I started to sing and she yelled at me to stop. So then she started to sing the song. Then she said “how bout you momma?” and I thought that meant she wanted me to sing so I again started sing. She yelled at me again to stop and the sang the song from the beginning and at the end she sang “put in oven for MOMMY and me!” then she asked “how bout me?” and then finished the song …

Slacker!
Um, I was scolding a fellow friend & blogger for having gone so long between posts and I think that I have been absent longer than she has. Oops!! OK, I just checked, we are tied (last post for both of us was January 6).
But, I don’t know what to blog about this week. It’s been such a normal (i.e. BORING) week that while Mallory continues to send me into hysterics with her constant chatter, nothing has stood out as being blog-worthy, because if it was, you’d have read about it here. I don’t think I’ve taken any pictures this …
Potty fweats
We’ve been talking about potty training Mallory for a while and they try once a day at school to get her to go on the potty. Usually her little report cards just have a “T” on them at her diaper change times, meaning she tried to go potty.
But – TODAY’S report card said “P!!” next to her post-nap diaper change. OMG she went potty today! I asked the teachers about it and they said she tinkled a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!!
I asked Mallory about it and she said the pushed the pee out (some song they sing) and …
Waterpark Fun
We went to the waterpark with Alli and her folks on Sunday. The girls were *so* excited to see each other after the long break because of Christmas & New Years.
The waterpark is pretty cool – they had a great kiddie pool with a slide (see video below) and then a lazy river with a little side pool with a bench all the way around that the girls put a lot of miles on. And they serve beer! Not that I had any but I think Rick was wishing he didn’t have a hockey game later that night.

Safety First
I know I owe you all a post about the waterpark but the Bachelor starts tonight so I don’t have time to type it up.
Instead, I’ll share this picture of Mallory in her new safety glasses, and with her toy – but very real & heavy – hammer.
All by myself
Today was a day of (almost) all by myself. Rick & Mallory ran errands [he has been FABULOUS with giving me some alone time – thank you, hubby!!] so I could scrapbook and grocery shop in peace. I didn’t get much scrapping done because my stupid back started to hurt leaning over the table but I made a little progress. And tonight we were supposed to go to a holiday party at a friend’s house but I am partied out from the past three days and have been going to bed way too late (and sleeping in way too late …
Walking in a Winter Wonderland
We took Cooper on a long overdue walk in the woods again today, that poor dog is so neglected (at least by his pre-little-sister standards), I can’t stand it. And because we have some snow we brought the cameras and the sled :-)
Happy New Year!
We had a fun New Years Eve – we went to dinner with a couple of our friends to my favorite restaurant in Saline and then we hung out with some other friends for a couple of hours (a lot longer than I’d planned on staying awake!). We got home just before midnight and let Mallory climb into bed with us so we could all watch the ball drop and celebrate together. Then Mallory ended up changing the channel on the TV just as the ball dropped so we missed anyway.
The three of us in …
I done frying now, Mama
Seriously? She kills me.
Mallory was being SUCH a grump yesterday. Rick was home with her while I went to work and then Rick & I went to see Marley & Me (holy sad…more on that later) so Mallory went to Aunt Emy’s house. She had a good dinner and a good nap and everything yesterday so who knows why she was so grumpy last night on our way home from Em’s.
She got mad because I wouldn’t let her buckle her own carseat buckles (um, it’s FREEZING OUT and I’ll have to end up doing it anyway so HURRY UP). She …
A Little Baby
Mallory’s new thing this past week or so is wanting us to help her because she says she is a little baby. If she wants us to feed her, she’ll say “feed me like a little baby” and then she’ll start this super high-pitched baby talk. It makes me want to laugh soooooo hard but I don’t think we should encourage her to act like this since pretty soon (13-ish weeks, to be exact) there will be a real live little baby living here.

Another new thing lately is her telling us “NO HELP ME, my do it”. …
