Wow – sorry about my absence. I just realized I hadn’t posted since SUNDAY and I know all eight of my readers are going through Mallory & Arlo withdrawal!
First of all, congrats to my dad – he passed a big test yesterday (something about green building and saving the planet for Mallory’s future). He’s been studying his a$$ off for weeks and hadn’t passed any of the practice tests he took and was really worried about the test yesterday. You need 170 right answers pass, and he got 179 right! He really IS an engineer! GO DAD!!!

Weekend Review
Mallory had swim class Friday night and with Rick out of town, I enlisted grandpa to come get in the water with Mallory so I didn’t have to. The class is unbelievably unstructured and un-instructured (you KNOW I’ll be calling again on Monday) so it was basically 30 minutes of playtime for Mallory & my dad – not that either of them minded. Mallory had the hugest smile on her face the entire class so even if she didn’t learn the butterfly stroke I guess it wasn’t a total loss. We had dinner at Miss Cheri & Scary Larry’s house …
Bad news & good news
Ok, I have a new funny thing to report and a sad thing to report.
When we take Mallory’s clothes or pajamas off, she says “NAKED BABY!!!”
The sad thing to report is that I tried to get Mallory on video saying “tonytail”. But now she says “ponytail”.
22-week-Eve
Here we are on the eve of 22 weeks. My lower back has been having some issues (like sharp stabbing pain) and my right ankle continues to blow up like crazy by the end of the day, so those are both fun. At least my heartburn is under control, thanks to the Zan.tac.
The baby is moving like CRAZY; it’s seems as though once I could feel it move all bets are off! I think s/he had hiccups today because I was feeling spaced out movements that would be consistent with hiccups.

Mallory went down FABULOUSLY for bedtime …
Tonytails or bawettes?
That is a common question in our house most mornings. I really need to get her on video saying “tonytails” because it’s too stinking cute.
And I think Mallory also thinks everyday is audition day “American Idol“. That girl is singing ALL.THE.TIME. My favorites:
“blah, yada, go away, tome adain nother day”, which I’m guessing is “rain, rain go away, come again some other day”
“blah, yada DIRTDAY TO YOU!!!!” (happy birthday to you)
“P S R T V W X Y Z now sing me” (ABCs)
Patty Cake is usually a duet she & I sing. Her part is in bold: Patty Cake, …
Too tired to come up with a good title
Here are the Mallory funnies of today:
In the car on the way home from school, I was yawning. From the backseat Mallory asked “you tired, Mommy?”
Rog is here working again today. Mallory asked where he went. I said he went upstairs. Then I asked her what was upstairs (expecting her to answer “(new) wall” or “mommy’s bed” or something). But instead she said “Wog!”, with a tone that said “mom – you are such a dumb-$$ – you just told me Rog was upstairs so why are you asking me what is upstairs??”
The girls were super cute when we left …
Things you hear in a house with a two-year old
“WHAT? GAGA? No hear you!!!”
(yelled from the upstairs down to Rick who was in the kitchen).
Wook at me, mama!
Mallory has been full of it all weekend – hardly any meltdowns and we have had a lot of fun.
Friday night Rick took us out to dinner – I suggested meeting at the Pub in town, but he said “aren’t you craving BW3s?” This from the man who NEVER EVER responds when I say I NEED a peanut buster parfait from DQ or that I NEED to have pizza, even when I try to blame it on being pregnant. So the fact that he was trying to get me to play the “craving” card just because he wanted BW3s …
Things you hear in a house with a two-year-old and a dog that eats socks
Mallory removing her bedtime socks in the morning and saying “My socks, Buhbuh. No eat it.”
Ok, last post for today
Two quick stories.
Mallory & I took Cooper for a walk in the woods a couple of weeks ago and my sister & her brood + their 6-mo old yellow lab Obi joined us. The kids were all pretty good the whole way up the hill and the dogs were having a BLAST chasing each other and running. We were about 1/4 of the way back down the hill, and Lauren was bent over on the dirt road to look at something and 120 lbs of streaking yellow & black lab barreled into her behind and she was sent headfirst into …
